The Incident Response Deployment Manager coordinates software deployment and release activities, ensuring compliance with processes and maintaining communication with stakeholders for the Veterans Benefits Administration.
The Deployment Manager supports software release, deployment coordination, and operational transition activities for the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA). This role is responsible for managing integrated release activities, coordinating deployments across multiple environments, ensuring compliance with VA release management processes, and facilitating communication between development, testing, operations, and regional office stakeholders.
The ideal candidate possesses strong experience with IT service management (ITSM), software deployment coordination, release management processes, and enterprise operational support within a federal government environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate software deployment activities across development, pre-production, testing, and production environments for VBA applications and systems.
- Maintain continuous communication with VA Regional Offices and stakeholders regarding deployment schedules, release activities, outages, and implementation status.
- Coordinate and manage monthly Integrated Releases using ITIL service transition processes and ServiceNow (SNOW) for operational support, tracking, and reporting.
- Create, update, and monitor Release records within ServiceNow to ensure accurate tracking and compliance with VA release management procedures.
- Associate and validate Change Requests within Release records to support successful deployment execution and governance requirements.
- Coordinate ASCEND release submissions and Change Requests to support Production Readiness Review Configuration Control Board (PRRCCB) processes and approvals.
- Review software change requests and validate submission of Application Turnover Transmittal (ATT) documentation within Serena Business Manager (SBM) and associated repositories.
- Ensure deployment documentation, implementation plans, rollback procedures, and supporting artifacts are complete, accurate, and compliant with operational standards.
- Coordinate pre-production installations to mirror Production deployments and support regression testing activities to minimize production release risk.
- Oversee installation and deployment activities during monthly integrated releases to ensure successful implementation of approved changes.
- Collaborate with development teams, testers, infrastructure support personnel, and operational stakeholders to resolve deployment issues and implementation risks.

- Implement operational and deployment process improvements based on customer priorities, urgency, and enterprise standardization requirements.
- Monitor deployment metrics, release status, and operational performance reporting.
- Participate in troubleshooting and issue resolution during deployment and transition activities.
- Maintain documentation related to release management, deployment procedures, operational processes, and implementation activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4+ years of experience in deployment management, release management, change management, or IT operations support.
