Job Description:

The Customer Implementation (CI) Team ensures the seamless execution of customer orders after signing. This team collaborates closely with the Sales organization to bring the solutions outlined in customer contracts to life. After implementation, the CI team facilitates a smooth handoff to Flexential’s Support and Customer Success teams, ensuring that solutions continue to be well-supported and foster a strong ongoing customer relationship.
The Implementation Engineer is responsible for working in a team environment to expeditiously and accurately deploy Flexential networking products and services. The Network Implementation Engineer works with the Customer Implementation Project Managers and Specialists to collect required information from Flexential Service Delivery and Sales Organizations as well as Flexential customers. The Network Implementation Engineers should be well-versed in Switches/firewalls/Load Balancers and LAN/Switch topologies.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Accurate and expeditious provisioning of Flexential products and services.

  • Act with a sense of urgency.

  • Ensure that quality is applied throughout the provisioning process. 

  • Adhere to Flexential processes, procedures, and tools to deliver standard products. 

  • Engage with management to identify and escalate any obstacles. 

  • Participate in the creation of supporting documentation for Service Delivery organization. 

  • Populate the customer documentation repository with appropriate information to ensure Flexential’s support teams are set up for success. 

  •  Clearly communicate challenges that you anticipate and mitigation and resolution strategies.

  • Be cognizant of the needs of the customer. 

  • Be dutiful and diligent so that provisioned solutions contribute to the mutual success of both Flexential and the customer. 

  • Act as an advocate for the customer. 

  • Anticipate the needs of the customer and actively work to “get it right the first time”. 

  • Actively contribute to the improvement of the provisioning process. 

  • Be an active learner, seeking out new technologies and methodologies. 

  • Experiment with new techniques, scripts and tools that can improve the provisioning process. 

  • Take an active interest in educating others. 

  • As new products and services are deployed, be an active contributor in the documentation process to support provisioning. 

  • Demonstrate excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills. 

  • Create instructional documentation that is easy to comprehend and simple to consume. 

  • If necessary, develop flowcharts and rack/cable diagrams that are easily interpreted by others. 

  • Review the documentation of peers and provide constructive criticism. 

  • Be able to clearly articulate ideas and take an active interest in helping others learn. 

  • Facilitate the successful implementation of services delivered by Flexential partner companies. 

  • Ensure that necessary and appropriate information is collected from partners and customers. 

  • Develop and execute a successful implementation plan that aims for the mutual success of Flexential, its partner(s) and the customer. 

  • Actively assist Flexential partners in developing supporting documentation and procedures for customers. 

  • Clearly instruct the Service Delivery organization on how to handle and escalate service requests and incidents for partner-delivered services. 

  • Attend product training sessions and disseminate information.

  • Work in a team setting to enhance group and individual product knowledge. 

  • Share best practices via contribution to provisioning and delivery documentation. 

  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.

  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years equivalent IT experience, or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline with 2 years equivalent IT experience 

  • Very strong customer service skills, extremely high attention to detail, aggressive trouble-shooting skills, and strong decision-making is critical to this position 

  • Strong attention to detail, making and keeping commitments and meeting deadlines

  • 2+ years of experience with virtual and physical firewalls and fundamentals (IPsec, NAT, PAT, IDPS)

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking (subnetting, VLANs, Spanning Tree, ARP)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CCNA, Network+, Security+, NSE or equivalent are not required, but will differentiate applicants

  • Experience with scripting languages, such as Powershell, Perl, Python or Ruby, for automation is very attractive

  • Experience with service Now and monitoring software such as Science Logic

Physical Requirements    

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time

  • Walk or stand for 15% of the time

  • Moderate or advanced keyboard usage

  • Lift 25 lbs.

  • Travel 10% of the time

Base Pay Range: Annualized salary range offered for this position is estimated to be $80,000 - $85,000. However, the actual pay range depends on each candidate’s experience, location, and qualifications.
