Our mission is to accelerate the exploration of Earth’s final frontier—the ocean—by pioneering autonomous technologies and unlocking transparent, actionable intelligence.
We believe that understanding the ocean is essential to thriving on this planet and beyond. The ocean is not just a vast body of water—it is the foundation of our climate, our resources, our communications, and our energy. As critical infrastructure increasingly moves beneath the waves, our ability to explore, map, and safeguard the ocean’s bedrock becomes vital.
We’re not just connecting the world by sea—we’re revealing the deep, unseen structure that connects all life. To secure our future, we must first understand the ground beneath us, the foundation of our civilization.
About You and The RoleDoes spending your days staring at dense seafloor datasets and teasing out insights about the nature of our oceans sound like a dream come true to you? Is your favorite part of any project when the initial data comes in and you get to chat about how to improve it with an excited team? Are you a fast mover, an experimenter, a problem solver? At Bedrock you’ll be joining a team of motivated dreamers, providing expertise that helps us to make rapid improvements in our datasets, our autonomous underwater vehicle behaviors, and the insights that we deliver to customers.
What You'll DoFirst pass data analysis of some/all of the following Bedrock collected datasets: multibeam echo sounder, side-scan sonar, magnetometer, sub-bottom profiler utilizing a standard software package (e.g., Qimera, SonarWiz, Seaview)
Create data products and related write ups for commercial clients
Collaborate with internal teams providing expert guidance on improvements to vehicle and survey plans
Work with product, leadership, and customers to ensure Bedrock data is the highest quality
Experience processing and reporting on at least two of the following datasets: multibeam echo sounder, side-scan sonar, magnetometer, sub-bottom profiler using a commercial software suite.
Experience and comfort with ArcGIS or QGIS and AutoCAD
Experience writing data reports for commercial clients
Attention to detail
Comfortable in a fast paced, ever changing environment
Bonus skills
Experience with all the datasets listed
Experience preparing data/reports specifically for offshore wind clients
Some (even light) python/R/matlab/shell/sql coding experience
Experience in the field (ship or AUV operations)
We are seeking mission oriented, purpose driven teammates who are willing to push boundaries to learn and execute when things seem impossible. The ocean is the ultimate level playing field, anyone can go, but not many can build successful systems that can survive and thrive in earth’s last frontier. We get to illuminate the darkness, explore the unknown, and be first to see what we can discover. We can see everything on earth, except in the depths of the sea.
