Job Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the Human Resources Business Partner team in providing timely and accurate client service to attorney and legal support teams. With an emphasis on employee relations, process improvement, and performance management, the incumbent will collaborate with the Talent Centers of Excellence to deliver generalist support throughout the employee lifecycle and promote consistent HR practices across the Legal function.

Essential Functions:

  • Partner with attorney and legal support groups to support talent goals and operational needs.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to ensure positions are posted and aligned with firm expectations
  • Collaborate with the Talent Experience team and Office Administrators to support successful integration of new hires.
  • Facilitate new hires and departing employees onboarding and exit discussions.
  • Perform routine tasks to support HR programs, including compensation, benefits, leave administration, and related processes.
  • Support the Human Resources Business Partner team with employee relations matters, including preparing for disciplinary meetings, investigations, data and documentation gathering, and separation processes.
  • Respond to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees and supervisors, escalating complex or sensitive issues as appropriate.
  • Partner with the Learning, Professional and Development teams to support the annual performance evaluations cycle and mid-year performance reviews, as well as recognition, engagement, and training and development initiatives.
  • Manage and analyze performance-related data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with HRIS to collect, analyze, and report key HR metrics.
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Partner with colleagues to develop and maintain standard operating procedures and best practices for department.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least three years of human resource experience in progressive roles or functions.
  • SHRM-CP a plus.

For New York City Metro area, the expected salary range for this position is between $116,000 and $130,000.   The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
