As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a dynamic and strategic HR Generalist (Payroll & Benefits) who is responsible for owning the semi-monthly payroll process while supporting core human resources functions. This position plays a key role in developing and maintaining HR policies and procedures assisting with employee benefits and ensuring compliance with employment laws. The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of hands-on HR experience, operates with a high level of independence, and serves as a trusted resource for employees and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Ownership

Own and execute the semi-monthly payroll process end-to-end, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance

Manage payroll inputs including but not limited to timekeeping, PTO, bonuses, deductions, and garnishments

Reconcile payroll reports, resolve discrepancies, and respond to payroll-related inquiries

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws

Support year-end payroll activities including audits and W-2 processing
Human Resources

Develop, document, and maintain HR policies and procedures

Administer employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, employee records, and HRIS maintenance

Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, payroll, and benefits

Support employee relations matters, performance management processes, and corrective action documentation

Ensure HR practices remain compliant with employment laws and company standards
Benefits Administration

Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and leave programs

Manage benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations in coordination with payroll

Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and payroll benefit deductions

Support open enrollment planning, communications, and vendor coordination

Respond to employee benefits questions and resolve issues with providers
Qualifications
Required
-
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)

3–5 years of HR Generalist experience with direct ownership of payroll

Proven experience processing semi-monthly payroll

Working knowledge of benefits administration and employment regulations

Experience creating and maintaining HR policies and procedures

Strong attention to detail and discretion with confidential information

Excellent and professional communication skills
Preferred

Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (Paycom a plus)

Multi-state payroll experience

HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP)
