NORY is a fast-growing STEM education organization on a mission to nurture Resilient, Inquisitive, and Empathetic Changemakers. We run hands-on camps for kids ages 3 to 12 across New York City and Boston, serving thousands of families each year, and we are now expanding nationally through franchising. Our work is high-stakes and high-care: every project a child builds, every educator we hire, every family we serve shapes whether we live up to our mission.
Hiring is the biggest unlock for NORY's next phase of growth, and we need a Recruitment Specialist to own it with us. The best candidates for NORY are not browsing job boards. They are already employed, already loved by their teams, and only move when the right person reaches out with the right pitch. Your job is to find those people, get them interested, and shepherd them through a clean, fast, respectful process.
This is a part-time, fully remote contractor role. You will partner with hiring managers across NORY (Operations, Customer Happiness, Curriculum, Marketing, and Camp Delivery) to fill priority openings.
Source passive candidates: identify people who are not actively looking, write tailored outreach, and convert them into applicants.
Manage inbound applications across LinkedIn, Indeed, and our ATS (Ashby), keeping every candidate moving forward or out within 48 hours.
Run first-round screens (phone or video) using NORY's structured interview rubric.
Track recruiting metrics weekly: applicants by source, time-to-screen, screen-to-offer, and pass-through rates by stage.
Coordinate scheduling between candidates and hiring managers.
Maintain a "warm bench" of strong candidates for future openings.
3+ years of recruiting experience, in-house or agency, with a track record of sourcing passive candidates (not just processing inbound).
You can write outreach that gets replies, and you can show us real examples.
Familiar with at least one modern ATS (Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever) and confident on LinkedIn Recruiter.
Organized to the point that nothing falls through the cracks. You run on systems, not memory.
Honest about candidate quality. You would rather tell us "no one this week" than push a weak candidate forward.
NORY operates by a set of Ways of Being that guide how we hire, teach, and treat each other. We move with urgency and care, we tell the truth quickly, and we hold a high bar for both rigor and warmth. You can read the full set at www.nory.co/value. If those values resonate, you will thrive here.
$27 to $37 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated sourcing track record.
10 to 20 hours per week, fully remote.
Flexible schedule with two non-negotiable weekly touchpoints: a Monday planning sync and a Friday metrics review.
Contractor (1099) engagement, with a clear path to expanded scope as NORY grows.
Apply through this posting and complete the application questions on Ashby. We read every response carefully, so make them count.
If you have a specific reason you want to work with NORY (a passive candidate you would source for us on day one, a recruiting playbook you have run that fits our stage, or a personal connection to our mission), email Sofia directly at [email protected]. Tell us what you would do, not just who you are.
NORY is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and candidates. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
