Head of Tax

• Hands on role, leading the Company’s tax department, managing all aspects of tax compliance and tax accounting for the Company.
• Work across a broad spectrum of tax disciplines, including tax provision, international tax, US tax, state and local, indirect taxes, compensation and transfer pricing.
• Oversee, coordinate and manage the Company’s third-party tax providers, ensuring that all tax-related issues are identified, communicated and resolved in a timely manner.
• Partnering with business and finance leadership to execute global tax strategies.
• Review of new legislation, filing, and reporting standards to ensure compliance and provide analysis on rates, accruals, and other financial data.
• Resolve notices from tax authorities
• Manage US sales tax and global indirect taxes in Avalara, coordinating registration of new jurisdictions, filing and payment of US sales and indirect taxes.
• Prepare month end close tax accrual journal entries and reconciliations.
• Oversee cross functional tax projects including R&D credit studies and section 382 ownership change analyses.
• Assist in setting tax strategy for planned M&A activity.
• Work closely with the broader accounting team in setting up recording and reconciling monthly activities within the companies Netsuite general ledger

• 10+ years of tax experience with a mix of Big 4 and in-house experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation preferred
• Outstanding analytical, organization and project management skills
• Strong tax compliance background and advanced tax technical and research skills
• International expansion experience is a plus
• Proven ability to work with external partners
