Head of Product Solutions

Cabin Consulting is seeking a Head of Product Solutions to serve as a pivotal pre-sales lead and strategic architect. This role is designed for a visionary leader with deep expertise in Product Discovery, Strategy, and Delivery who can translate complex business client challenges into compelling product-centric proposals.

Operating similarly to a Sales Engineer, you will meticulously define the engagement model, process, and value proposition for prospective projects. Once a project is sold, you will transition into a high-level advisory and escalation role, ensuring our delivery teams are positioned to execute the methodology you’ve architected.

This role will report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer and will be an integral part of a horizontal guild of Solution Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Each SME in this guild will possess core domain expertise tied to critical digital solutions that Cabin's clients leverage for either top-line revenue growth or significant operational efficiency gains.

Role Summary

This role is a critical blend of thought leadership and strategic architecture, operating as the primary bridge between a client’s business ambitions and Cabin’s delivery excellence. As the Head of Product Solutions, you serve as our premier Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Product Management and Enterprise Product Delivery, possessing the rare ability to navigate the complexities of large-scale organizational structures while maintaining a "builder" mindset.

You are not just a facilitator; you are a practitioner who understands the nuances of the Modern Enterprise Product Lifecycle. Your expertise allows you to guide clients through the shift from "Project to Product," helping them move away from rigid, legacy requirements toward discovery-led, value-driven development. You understand that enterprise delivery is as much about stakeholder alignment, risk mitigation, and capital allocation as it is about code and design.

Strategic Solution Domains

You will operate across the core solution domains that drive modern enterprise value, including:

  • Customer Experience & Digital Commerce: Architecting solutions that deepen loyalty and drive top-line revenue.
  • Operational Excellence & Automation: Identifying internal friction points where digital products can yield massive efficiency gains.
  • Modernization & Data Strategy: Helping clients unlock the value of their legacy data environments to fuel modern product features.
Industry Breadth & Contextual Intelligence

A key component of this role is the ability to apply a product lens across diverse industry verticals. You must possess the "contextual intelligence" to understand how technology serves the specific goals of the industries Cabin serves including:

  • Financial Services: Navigating regulatory constraints to deliver seamless, trust-based digital banking and fintech experiences.
  • Retail & Hospitality: Bridging the gap between physical and digital touchpoints to create unified customer journeys and optimized inventory/booking systems.
  • Healthcare: Designing patient-centric solutions that balance data privacy (HIPAA) with accessibility and improved outcomes.
  • Industrial: Strategizing how digital products can enhance supply chain visibility, predictive maintenance, and shop-floor connectivity.
Why This Role is Important:
  • Precision in Fixed-Bid Models: We sell fixed-fee engagements. Our success depends on your ability to structure engagements that are mutually beneficial, technically sound, and clearly scoped.
  • Talent as the Product: Cabin employs top-tier digital talent. We must design engagements with thoughtful assumptions that allow our delivery teams to do their best work without burnout or scope creep.
  • Strategic Evolution: As the market shifts, we must align our offerings with modern product discovery and development methodologies. You provide the unique point of view that bridges cutting-edge tech with pragmatic business solutions.
  • Unlocking Client Funding: Clients need to understand the what, why, and how to secure internal funding. You provide the clarity and documentation they need to socialize Cabin as their partner of choice.
  • Cross-solutioning for Engagements: You design engagements that integrate strategy, product, design, and engineering, ensuring a cohesive solution narrative and coordinated execution across functional teams
ResponsibilitiesSolutions & Pre-Sales Leadership
  • Speculative Solution Development: Lead the ideation and design of digital solutions that address client business challenges and enable them to obtain capex funding.
  • Engagement Architecture: Define the complete framework for prospective projects, including the engagement model, detailed methodology (Discovery vs. Delivery), key deliverables, and timelines.
  • Pre-Sales & Scoping: Own the end-to-end process for product strategy engagements, including initial consultations, opportunity framing, and pitch support.
  • Commercial Offering Development: Refine Cabin’s offerings to cover the full product lifecycle—from initial market-fit assessments and strategic roadmapping to implementation and rollout.
  • Delivery Onboarding: Lead internal kickoffs to transfer domain knowledge from the sales cycle to the delivery team, ensuring a seamless transition and clear scope boundaries.
Strategic Advisory & Delivery Support
  • Fractional Leadership: Serve as a billable, fractional "Head of Product" for strategic accounts, providing macro-level guidance and identifying growth opportunities for Cabin within the account.
  • Escalation & Intervention: Act as a "parachute player," dropping into active projects for issue triage, strategic course correction, or to provide specialized expertise during critical milestones.
  • Solution Refinement: Establish and lead internal forums for rigorous solution critique, ensuring our problem-solving approaches remain world-class.
Thought Leadership
  • Methodology Champion: Collaborate with marketing to establish Cabin’s authoritative voice on product discovery and delivery through case studies, whitepapers, and speaking engagements.
  • Market Alignment: Monitor market trends to ensure Cabin’s methodology remains competitive and aligned with how enterprise clients buy digital services.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership in Product Management, Product Strategy, and Technology Consulting, with a specific focus on navigating the complexities of large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Mastery of the Product Discovery & Delivery Lifecycle: Deep expertise in moving projects from speculative ideation (Product-Market Fit) to rigorous execution (Fixed-Bid Delivery).
  • Expertise in Enterprise Scoping & Solutions Architecture: Proven track record of defining fixed-bid, fixed-scope engagements, including resource modeling, risk mitigation, and the creation of detailed Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Industry Versatility: Demonstrated experience delivering digital solutions across at least three of Cabin’s core verticals: Financial Services, Retail, Healthcare, Hospitality, or Industrial/Manufacturing.
  • Strategic Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of how enterprise capital expenditure (capex) and operational expenditure (opex) budgets are allocated, with the ability to build business cases that unlock funding for digital initiatives.
  • Methodological Flexibility: Expert-level command of various product and architecture frameworks—including Agile, Scrum, Lean Product Development, and Dual-Track Agile (Discovery + Delivery).
  • Pre-Sales Leadership: Exceptional ability to partner with Business Development teams to lead high-stakes pitches, acting as the technical and strategic authority in the room.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Degree: An MBA or Master’s in a technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, or MS in AI/ML) is highly preferred to bridge the gap between business strategy and technical feasibility.
  • Consulting Practice Architecture: Experience building, scaling, or leading a "Solutions" or "Pre-Sales" function within a premium digital consultancy or professional services firm.
  • Industry-Specific Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with vertical-specific constraints, such as HIPAA for healthcare, PCI-DSS for retail/finance, or SOC2 standards for enterprise SaaS.
  • Published Thought Leadership: A documented portfolio of whitepapers, articles, or speaking engagements focusing on Product Management, Digital Transformation, or the Future of Enterprise Delivery.
  • Strategic Advisory Experience: Prior experience serving as a fractional "Head of Product" or "Head of Solutions" for mid-market to enterprise-level organizations.
Ideal Candidate

You have a "servant-leader" mindset and thrive in the fast-paced world of client services. You understand the internal politics of large enterprises—specifically how they secure funding and manage capex investments tied to complex digital products and ecosystems.

You are equally comfortable whiteboarding a speculative product vision as you are auditing a delivery timeline to ensure it's realistic. You are a Product Strategy generalist who can envision a solution and then build the blueprint for others to discover, design, and develop for it.
