About the Role
We’re looking for a Head of Product Design to lead and build the next generation of Huckleberry’s mobile product offerings.
As the Head of Product Design, you will operate in 3 key areas: strategy, execution, and leadership. You will define and drive our product vision by translating user insights and business needs into a clear, forward-looking design strategy. You’ll lead and own new end-to-end design cycles, turning deep user understanding and data into intuitive, elegant experiences that unlock everyday magic for our users. At the same time, you will lead, mentor, and manage a talented team of designers, furthering a design ethos culture that creates delightful, beautifully simple, and easy-to-use products through thoughtful design reviews

Areas of Responsibility
- Lead and own end-to-end new product design, ensuring solutions align with user needs and business goals.
- Create brand new products and experiences that solve user needs in creative, delightful, and innovative ways by deeply understanding user behaviors, motivations, and pain points, and advocating for user-centered design decisions.
- Lead and manage the Product Design team, providing clear direction, coaching, and mentorship through design reviews, constructive feedback, and continuous development.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to define problems, prototype ideas, and deliver high-quality experiences that ship to users.
- Leverage data and insights to inform design decisions, validate concepts, and measure impact.
- Maintain a high standard of craft through thoughtful use of design tools and develop design processes and systems that showcase clear reasoning and user-centric decision-making.
- Drive innovation by staying curious and informed about evolving design trends, technologies, and best practices, sharing learnings to elevate the team’s collective expertise.
Requirements
- 10+ years of product design experience, with a strong focus on mobile app design.
- 3+ years of experience leading and managing Product Design teams, with a demonstrated ability to coach and mentor designers, and elevate team performance through structured design reviews and feedback.
- Track record of creating new products or experiences in emerging or undefined spaces.
- Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, usability, and accessibility.
- Demonstrated ability using data and user feedback to inform, validate, and refine design decisions.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to connect design solutions to business goals and metrics.
- Strong collaboration skills, with experience partnering closely with engineers, product managers, and researchers to deliver impactful user experiences.
- Strong curiosity about new design trends, emerging technologies, and best-in-class experiences.
- Proven track record of building, maintaining, and extending design systems to create consistency across products.
- A portfolio that clearly demonstrates design thinking, decision-making process, and measurable impact on product outcomes.
