You will lead a high-performing data and analytics team focused on delivering insights that strengthen organizational resilience and support sound decision-making. You will partner closely with the Head of Controls and Oversight to deliver operational, risk, and control insights that strengthen decision- making and governance.

 

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Partner and consult with senior executive leadership to deliver analytical insights on Vanguard's strategy and client base. Ensure crew on team are partnering effectively as consultants for business functions to deliver actionable insights and solutions.

  • Hire, evaluate, and supervise crew. Provide guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Set performance standards, review performance, and make informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.

  • Oversee the enterprise-wide strategy and program for the adoption and implementation of analytics tools. Develop and maintain strategic plan to ensure tools and approaches meet evolving business demands. Develops an enterprise-wide view of analytics capabilities; identifies gaps and proposes solutions.

  • Lead the team in consulting with business partners to help establish efficient analytics and business intelligence tools, frameworks, and capabilities. Educate business leaders about self-service tools and provides support for teams as they stand up internal functions.

  • Build and scale teams with expertise in advanced analytics, data engineering, analytics consulting, and business acumen. Oversee training strategy to foster development of analytical acumen for crew and leaders across Vanguard.

  • Stay ahead of industry, market, and company trends. Ensures that Vanguard's use of analytics tools is scalable and sustainable. Serves as a leader of Vanguard's analytics community and contributes expertise. Represents Vanguard in external industry events and proactively forms external relationships to bring in new ideas, technology, and talents.

  • Participate in the development of the department budget, including the identification of technology investments and budget allocation to support these tools. Review expenses and ensures unit operates within budgetary guidelines.

  • Develop dashboards and reporting for controls, supervision, process health, KRIs and operational performance.

  • Support RCSA, risk taxonomy, KRI threshold setting through high quality data.

  • Enhancing quality and efficiency through robust process mapping, control design, and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Managing a portfolio of complex data projects, including data collection, validation, and the development of reports, dashboards, and actionable insights.

  • Collaborating with senior stakeholders to align priorities, maximize business value, and support enterprise-wide decision-making.

  • Champion innovation and adaptability to ensure alignment with emerging technologies and regulatory requirements.

 

Building a culture of flexibility and innovation, enabling the organization to adapt quickly to emerging risks, regulatory changes, and market dynamics.

Key Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business, or related field; Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years in Data & Analytics.

  • At least 5 years of leadership experience managing high-performing analytics teams, including managers

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong background in data analytics, experimentation, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau), SQL, Python and advanced analytics techniques.

  • Experience with operational risk, controls, compliance or fraud analytics

Leadership & Communication:

  • Demonstrated ability to generate actionable insights and drive strategic decision-making.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex data insights clearly and concisely.

  • Strong stakeholder management and executive presence, with a proven track record of influencing senior leaders.

  • Ability to prioritize initiatives effectively and ensure optimal value delivery across projects.

Preferred:

  • Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
