The Opportunity

ChartHop is looking for a Head of Marketing to lead our marketing team. This person will report directly to the CEO, you will be the architect of our go-to-market execution, bridging the gap between high-level brand awareness and rigorous, data-driven demand generation.

About You:
  • Builder: You enjoy 0-1, and 1-2. The team has a solid foundation but we’re looking for someone to elevate our existing marketing team, strategy and impact. You don’t have to have built a team from scratch, but you need to have seen the movie and understand what it’s like.

  • Innovator: comfortable with taking calculated risks and experimenting with our marketing strategy to drive successful leads and revenue

  • Background: You’re a leader with a demand generation focus and expertise in your career. This is most foundational to the success of the team at this stage.

  • Industry Experience: you’ve worked at a B2B SaaS company previously, with preference for companies in the Human Resources technology, secondary would be Data Analytics, and AI spaces.

  • Early-stage: you’re comfortable with and have been at pre-Series C companies where pace is fast, growth is key, and learnings are critical to success.

  • AI-Forward: you’re AI-curious and understand how AI has substantially changed the marketing landscape and how we can leverage it

  • Data-driven: You have data fluency and understand how to review it to make more precise decisions that focus on results.

Who We Are:
  • Our Team: Remote-first team of builders, connected to a vision to make people teams and companies more successful through connected data, transparency, and AI.

  • Our Values: fast, inclusive, transparent, optimistic, all-in

  • Our Product: ChartHop is the AI-first people platform. Our roots are in Analytics and Planning — helping people teams model org structures, manage compensation, and plan for growth. We've expanded into a full people operations suite covering HRIS, performance management, engagement, and real-time org analytics. Our newest frontier is ChartHop AI — an agentic AI layer that lets HR teams ask questions, surface insights, and take actions across their people data in natural language. We're at an inflection point: AI is reshaping what HR software can do, and we intend to lead that category.

  • Our Clients: Span nearly every industry from 10 employees to 30k. Some notable ones include 1Password, Sweetgreen, Headspace,

  • Our Marketing Org: 2 FTEs and a number of amazing contractors and consultants who make it happen!

Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Funnel Strategy: Own the strategy and execution of multi-channel programs designed to drive high-quality qualified pipeline.

  • Performance Marketing: Oversee paid acquisition (search, social, display) in collaboration with external performance agencies, ensuring optimal CAC and high-intent lead flow.

Brand Awareness & Content Ecosystem

  • SEO/AEO Strategy: Move beyond traditional search; lead our strategy for Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) to ensure ChartHop is the definitive answer in AI-driven search environments.

  • Influencer & Analyst Relations: Cultivate relationships with key HR tech influencers and industry analysts (Gartner, Forrester, etc.) to solidify ChartHop’s position as a category leader.

  • Public Relations Support: Manage external PR resources to drive earned media and thought leadership.

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing marketing team.

  • Vendor Orchestration: Manage a roster of specialized agencies and freelancers, ensuring high-quality output and accountability.

  • Marketing Ops & Analytics: Oversee the marketing tech stack (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.) to ensure flawless lead routing, attribution, and reporting. You will provide the CEO with clear, data-backed insights on marketing ROI.

AI-Native Marketing

  • Champion the use of Generative AI tools to accelerate content production, audience segmentation, and experiment iteration.

What Success Looks Like in Year One:
  • 0–90 days: Deeply understand our customers, our product, our pipeline, and our current marketing motion. Audit what's working, what isn't, and where the biggest leverage points are.

  • 90–180 days: Launch a refreshed demand generation engine with clear attribution, tightened CAC targets, and a content and AEO strategy that positions ChartHop as the definitive voice in AI-native HR.

  • 180–365 days: Own a meaningful portion of qualified pipeline, have analyst and influencer relationships actively generating awareness, and have ChartHop's AI story landing consistently in the market. The team is energized, focused, and performing.
