Role

We are seeking a Head of Legal Account Management reporting to the Head of Strategic Account Management & Legal to lead and grow our legal client portfolio. This individual will serve as a player-coach: managing a team of Account Managers while directly overseeing a select group of our most strategic Am Law 100/200 client accounts. The Head of Legal Account Management will set the standard for client engagement, ensuring Octus delivers exceptional value, drives renewals, and expands our footprint within the legal sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Account Managers serving our legal client base.
  • Personally manage and act as executive sponsor for a portfolio of strategic Am Law firm accounts, driving adoption, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Build and execute account strategies that deliver revenue growth, including renewals, upsells, and cross-sells.
  • Serve as the voice of the client to internal teams, influencing Product, Content, and Marketing roadmaps and messaging.
  • Analyze client usage, renewal risk, and pipeline metrics; take proactive steps to mitigate risk and maximize client lifetime value.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in Account Management, Client Success, or Relationship Management, ideally within legal, SaaS, data, or information services sectors.
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team, with a proven track record of leading and mentoring Account Managers.
  • Deep knowledge of the Am Law 100/200 market, with established senior-level relationships.
  • Demonstrated success in managing renewals, expansions, and complex enterprise accounts.
  • Data-driven approach with strong analytical and strategic skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; JD preferred.
  • Must be based in New York and able to work in the office three days per week.

At Octus, we consider a range of factors in connection with compensation decisions, including experience, skills, location, and our business needs and limitations. As a result, compensation may vary within and across similar roles and positions. Please note that the salary range information below is a good faith estimate for this position and actual compensation for any individual may fall outside this range if warranted by the circumstances applicable to that individual. If we identify a role that would be suitable for a broader range of skills and experience such that we would consider hiring at multiple levels then the range listed below may reflect that breadth.

The base salary range estimate for this position is $220,000-$270,000. 

The actual compensation will be at Octus’ sole discretion and will be determined by the aforementioned and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for additional commission-based compensation.
