As the Head of Fraud and Financial Crime in the International Consumer Bank team, you will lead the development and implementation of strategies that align with our objectives and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with senior leaders, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Job Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy for fraud prevention and financial crime management that aligns with the bank's overall objectives and regulatory requirements in Germany.
- Product Development: Deliver the design and development of innovative products and solutions to effectively detect, prevent, and manage fraud and financial crime.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the fraud and financial crime operation, ensuring efficient processes, robust controls, and continuous improvement.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant German and international regulations related to fraud and financial crime. Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure the bank's practices are up-to-date and compliant.
- Team Leadership: Develop and lead a high-performing team of professionals in fraud and financial crime operations. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including other departments, partners, and regulatory bodies, to ensure a cohesive approach to fraud and financial crime management.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to fraud and financial crime. Develop and implement risk management frameworks and strategies.
- Technology Integration: Leverage technology and data analytics to enhance fraud detection and prevention capabilities. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the industry.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Extensive expertise in fraud design and development, leading high-performing teams, and thriving in high-growth environments.
- Demonstrated experience in fraud product strategy, delivery, and management, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Proficiency in implementing fraud monitoring, detection, and prevention tools.
- Experience with authentication tools deployment.
- Comprehensive understanding of the regulatory framework applicable to retail banks, including familiarity with AML regulations and guidelines. Knowledge of the USA PATRIOT Act, Bank Secrecy Act, EU Money Laundering Directives, and/or AML regulations issued by EU and US authorities is advantageous.
- Experience in vendor management, encompassing product evaluation and integration.
- Proven ability to collaborate with engineering teams.
- Strong awareness of technological advancements and trends from both threat and counter-threat perspectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A robust, proven track record in financial crimes compliance at a German retail bank.
- Ability to mentor and impart knowledge to team members, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to express opinions succinctly.
- Adaptability in dynamic and evolving environments, with a quick learning ability for new technologies and patterns.
