The Role

At LearnLux, we build a product that can change someone's life. Our success is in helping members achieve their personal financial goals, including getting out of debt, buying a home, getting on track for retirement, and more. Reporting to the COO, the Head of Finance will be broadly responsible for traditional finance responsibilities, including accounting and reporting, financial operations, financial planning and analysis, and tax, in addition to other operational areas. You will work across all teams at LearnLux to ensure we’re constantly improving efficiency and productivity. We’re a fast growing company, and are scaling significantly and quickly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Priorities at LearnLux will start with serving as a key advisor to the CEO, COO, and Board, offering well-thought-out perspectives and leadership on options for growth, financing transactions, and operational excellence.
  • Implement rigorous processes around real-time forecasting, reporting and analysis of key metrics, revenue operations, and vendor management.
  • Support department leaders and employees across the full team, including but not limited to the commercial (sales and client success) team, global operations, legal and compliance, and people operations, including compensation and benefits planning.
  • Partner closely with the commercial team in evaluating revenue strategies for new and existing clients, including strategic financial decisions, net new revenue opportunities, renewals, expansions and program upsells.
  • Supervise and raise the level of the accounting and finance organization and core processes to ensure the integrity and timeliness of reporting on financial condition and results by:
    • Overseeing both internal staff and external service providers.
    • Integrating data into financial reports and projections.
    • Developing and documenting business processes and internal controls, ensuring that these are implemented to achieve compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements for financial, tax, and compliance reporting.
  • Expand personal leadership to strengthen and scale other company administrative and shared functions after the financial priorities have been addressed.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 8+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A, ideally in a high-growth startup or SaaS environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required
  • MBA, CPA, or similar advanced credentials are a plus, but not required
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, and audits
  • Proven ability to build and manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes
  • Experience supporting executive leadership with financial insights, board reporting, and capital planning
  • Familiarity with global financial operations, including contractor payments and multi-currency environments
  • Comfortable owning systems and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Brex, Carta, Hubspot) and improving processes as the company scales
  • Collaborative approach with experience partnering cross-functionally with teams such as Commercial, People, Legal, and Operations
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely

  • Involvement in fundraising processes during Series B and beyond is preferred.
