Position Overview:

We are seeking experience and dynamic Head of Digital Underwriting to lead the digital transformation of our underwriting processes.  In this senior leadership role, you will be responsible for developing and executing the digital underwriting strategy, aligning technology and innovation with our underwriting goals and ensuring a seamless integration of digital solutions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital underwriting strategy that aligns with company goals and supports our expansion efforts, especially in the areas of automation, data analytics, and AI-driven underwriting.
  • Own the P&L for the digital underwriting function.  Develop financial plans, manage budgets, and ensure cost-effective execution of underwriting activities while driving profitable growth. 
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives that streamline underwriting processes, improve efficiency, and enhance customer experience.  This includes implementing digital platforms, improving data collection, and ensuring robust risk assessment capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with cross -functional teams including claims, product, distribution and technology to ensure seamless integration of digital underwriting solutions across the organization.
  • Work closely with Head of Product to ensure compliance and digital underwriting processes adhere to regulatory standards and risk management protocols. 
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to measure the success of digital underwriting initiatives and implement continuous improvement programs.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and technology team, ensuring that digital underwriting tools and platforms meet our evolving business needs. 
  • Stay up to date on digital underwriting trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to continuously drive innovation and competitive advantage.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in underwriting with at least 3 years in a role managing digital transformation and innovation within the underwriting space, preferably in cyber insurance.
  • Proven experience in driving digital transformation initiatives in the insurance industry with existing broker relationships, particularly in underwriting.
  • Demonstrated P&L management experience and financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and driving profitability.
  • Knowledge of digital underwriting platforms, data analytics, ML/AI and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with insurance technologies, including policy administration systems and risk assessment tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, and external partners.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 1-5 years of related work experience.

Physical Requirements: 

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
