The Private Equity Industry Growth Strategist is a critical success factor to firm growth. The position will serve as a thought partner to the Chief Growth Officer, Private Equity Industry Growth Leader, and our Shareholders. They will ideate, curate, and support strategic industry-centric marketing and business development initiatives to support our Private Equity team’s growth goals. This role will actively participate in customer-facing activities and events, facilitate pursuits of new business, track and report our progress toward growth goals, and collaborate with our internal Growth Marketing and Communications teams to deliver transformational experiences to current and future customers. The Private Equity Growth Strategist will play a pivotal role in expanding the firm’s market share and enhancing our national brand.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Industry Leader to create industry go-to-market plan that identifies our ideal customer profiles, buyer personas, and target customers. The plan also details the specific marketing and business development activities the firm will undertake to achieve our growth goals.
  • Work with subject matter resources, Shareholders, and Industry/service line leaders to identify and prioritize the challenges and business issues that are top of mind to our customers and future customers
  • Work with subject matter resources, Shareholders and industry / service leaders to develop and distribute Elliott Davis’s unique point of view on the business challenges and opportunities our customers face
  • Develop outreach campaigns to socialize and create awareness for our unique POVs externally with current and future customers by:
    • Managing contact / marketing lists
    • Utilizing paid/owned/earned media
    • Developing insights, white papers, and testimonials
    • Curating proprietary client experiences/events
    • Identifying speaking engagements/sponsorships for our subject matter resources/industry leaders
  • Provide guidance and support for strategic pursuits of new business, including pre-pursuit research, targeting, developing pursuit plans
  • Manage the process of developing proposal documents, leveraging the marketing and document processing teams to produce high-quality and relevant proposals, often with strict deadlines.
  • Leverage the Marketing team’s Account Based Marketing strategy generate leads and new revenue opportunities with our ideal customer profiles
  • Manage industry marketing content, working closely with our Marketing team to ensure relevant and consistent brand messaging through our owned, earned, and paid media channels.
  • Lead internal preparation and strategy meetings and participate in scoping and relationship development meetings with future customers.
  • Serve as a customer-facing ambassador for the firm / industry at tradeshows, owned/sponsored events
  • Collaborate extensively with Growth Strategists in other industries/Market Segments; work as a team to share best practices and to ensure we are always getting better.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a marketing or business development role, preferably within the professional services field (i.e., marketing agency, accounting, law, architecture, or engineering firm) collaborating with customers, advisors, and service providers within the Private Equity / M&A sector.
  • Demonstrated experience working with private equity firms, portfolio companies, investors, or other participants in the Private Equity / M&A ecosystem.
  • Interest in and willingness to actively participate in go-to-market activities, including customer and prospect meetings, industry events, and travel as needed.
  • Proactive, self-directed approach to work, with exceptional attention to detail, strong follow-through, and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Proven history of high customer service and the ability to build relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Experience maintaining professional relationships with C-level executives and buyers of professional services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools such as HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Salesforce, or similar enterprise-level CRM.
  • Understanding of the professional services industry and the ability to work within and navigate a matrix organization structure.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage a pipeline of new business, identify trends and win themes, and to frequently present this information to Industry/firm leadership.
  • Proficiency with industry research and prospecting/leadgen software such as Pitchbook, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, HubSpot, Hoovers/D&B, and S&P Global
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
