About the Relay Messaging Division:
Fomo is the original Social Proof app that aims to improve online store conversion rates. Fomo integrates with many e-commerce platforms: Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace and more. It’s also popular with online course sellers and other SaaS companies.
SalesPop is a Shopify-exclusive application designed to enhance on-site engagement. The platform combines real-time social proof notifications with interactive brand story popups, allowing merchants to display activity and communicate their narrative directly to shoppers.
Smartrmail is an AI enabled email marketing platform for ecommerce. It has direct integrations with Shopify, Bigcommerce, and Neto. Smartrmail gives you all the email tools your store needs to get more sales. SmartrMail also provides merchants with in-house managed email marketing services for brands looking to scale beyond do it yourself email marketing.
The Role
As our Growth Marketing Manager for the Messaging division, you will be responsible for driving customer acquisition, pipeline growth, and product adoption through scalable, data-driven marketing programs. This is a highly execution-focused role, partnering closely with Sales, Product, and Customer Success to translate strategy into measurable growth across the Shopify ecosystem and broader subscription commerce market.
You will own and optimize key growth levers across demand generation, lifecycle marketing, and go-to-market execution, with a strong focus on experimentation, performance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Growth Marketing & Demand Generation
- Plan, execute, and optimize multi-channel growth programs including content, paid acquisition, SEO, email marketing, cold email outreach, and account-based marketing.
- Drive consistent growth in qualified trials and marketing-sourced pipeline year over year.
- Build targeted campaigns for different customer segments, including early-stage and scaling DTC brands across key verticals.
- Partner closely with Sales to support lead qualification, nurturing, and conversion from trial to revenue.
- Own campaign performance reporting and continuously optimize based on results.
Lifecycle and Conversion Optimization
- Build and improve lifecycle programs that support the full customer journey, from acquisition through onboarding, activation, and expansion.
- Partner with Customer Success to support retention, engagement, and expansion initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve conversion rates across the funnel through testing and experimentation.
Content and Campaign Execution
- Execute content-driven growth initiatives including campaigns, case studies, webinars, and customer stories that support demand generation and sales enablement.
- Ensure content and campaigns align with Messaging product positioning and customer needs.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to support campaign execution.
Measurement and Optimization
- Own key growth metrics including trial volume, pipeline contribution, conversion rates, and campaign ROI.
- Use data and analytics to inform decisions, prioritize experiments, and scale what works.
- Maintain a strong feedback loop with Sales and Customer Success to refine targeting and messaging.
Essential Experience
- 3 to 6 years of experience in growth marketing, demand generation, or performance marketing roles.
- Proven experience in B2B SaaS marketing, ideally within e-commerce tools or the Shopify ecosystem.
- Experience marketing to SMB and mid-market customers, with an understanding of how DTC founders and operators evaluate and buy software.
- Hands-on experience executing and optimizing campaigns across multiple channels.
Technical and Marketing Skills
- Strong demand generation skill set across paid, organic, and lifecycle channels.
- Experience with marketing automation and CRM tools such as HubSpot, Klaviyo, or similar platforms.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze performance and turn insights into action.
- Using AI as a force multiplier for the strategic thinking you're already doing, is essential.
- Familiarity with the Shopify ecosystem and broader e-commerce technology landscape.
Soft Skills
- Strong execution skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Collaborative approach and comfort working cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Customer Success.
- Clear communicator with the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a test-and-learn mindset.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in subscription commerce or recurring revenue businesses.
- Exposure to retention marketing, lifecycle management, or customer engagement programs.
- Background working with or marketing to Shopify merchants, agencies, or app partners.
- Experience at a fast-growing SaaS or venture-backed startup.
- Familiarity with email marketing, conversion rate optimization, or messaging-focused products.
- Experiencing creating an annual marketing plan across multiple channels with a proposed budget.
