Growth Marketing Lead Job DescriptionAbout Us

The search bar is becoming a conversation. Brands need to know how to get found by AI, and that's what we do. Yolando is the platform that helps marketers understand and improve how AI models discover, cite, and recommend their brand.

We've raised $8.5M from Drive Capital. We're 12 people building the standard for Generative Engine Optimization.

Role Overview

We are seeking a gritty, data-driven Growth Marketer to lead our 0→1 B2B activation. This high-impact role is focused on "scrappy" distribution and creative experimentation. You will not rely on established brand equity or massive paid budgets initially; instead, you will build our engine from the ground up, generating our first meaningful waves of ICP impressions and warm leads through non-paid channels and creative hacks. You will be responsible for defining and executing growth experiments—from founder-led thought leadership to "Answer Engine Optimization" (AEO) seeding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute 0→1 Distribution Plays: Develop and implement a "scrappy" distribution plan to generate leads without heavy reliance on paid ads.

  • Own the "Answer Engine" Narrative: Craft and test differentiated POVs regarding AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and why it matters now.

  • Architect the Growth Engine: Design and maintain a high-velocity experimentation framework to test hypotheses across acquisition, activation, and retention.

  • Drive Experimentation & Virality: Design and run unconventional growth hacks, such as creating benchmarking tools, scraping public data for leads, or reverse-engineering competitor search strategies.

  • Full-Funnel Optimization: Measure and report on the impact of experiments. Focus on improving lead quality and sales conversion rather than just vanity metrics. Develop attribution models to understand which levers truly drive growth.

  • Founder-Led Growth: Operationalize founder-led thought leadership on platforms like LinkedIn, testing different angles, formats, and hooks to drive engagement.

  • Build the Growth Stack: Identify and implement the right tooling for an early-stage B2B SaaS company to automate and scale successful experiments.

What We're Looking For
  • A "Scrappy" Operator: You thrive in environments with limited resources and no pre-existing audience. You possess high "hustle" and grit, willing to do the unglamorous work to get early traction.

  • Deeply Analytical & Experimental: You have a history of leading growth experiments from start to finish. You know how to pivot strategy based on data and can clearly explain your attribution logic.

  • Multi-Channel Generalist: You are comfortable across the marketing spectrum—from content and demand gen to paid ads (e.g., PMAX) and partnerships.

  • Strategic Positioning: You can craft sharp, differentiated messaging that stands out against incumbents who have been in the market longer.

  • Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with modern growth stacks, automation tools, and Claude Code to run growth experiments.

Bonus if you have:
  • Experience with "Answer Engine Optimization" (AEO) or LLM-focused marketing strategies.

  • A portfolio of "non-traditional" low-cost campaigns that delivered meaningful growth.

  • Previous experience as a founder or early hire in a high-growth startup.

Why Join Us?
  • Join an innovative, fast-growing startup building cutting-edge AI marketing solutions.

  • Make a meaningful impact by shaping the platform's user experience, design identity, and overall success.

  • Dynamic environment with opportunities for real ownership, learning, and growth.

  • Competitive salary and support for professional development.

How to Apply
  • Please send your resume, portfolio, and a brief note about why you're interested in joining us.

  • We'd love to see your work and hear your story!

  • This is a hybrid role, with 2 days per week in our downtown Toronto office.
