Role Overview

Growth Consulting is a strategy consulting practice, powered by CIRCANA, focused on driving profitable growth established 10+ years ago. The team works with senior management at some of the world's largest and most successful consumer packaged goods, retail, general merchandise, and over-the-counter health care companies, as well as for Private Equity firms.


As an Engagement Manager, you will be the orchestrator of complex consulting projects, serving as the critical bridge between our analytical capabilities and client success. You will take ownership of the entire project lifecycle - from initial planning through final delivery - while building lasting client relationships that drive both immediate results and long-term partnerships. In this role, you'll lead diverse teams of consultants, translate business challenges into actionable strategies, and ensure every engagement delivers measurable value that exceeds client expectations.


Job Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery: Lead the day-to-day execution of consulting engagements, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and exceed client expectations while maintaining the highest quality standards
  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary client point of contact, building trusted advisor relationships with senior stakeholders and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor consulting teams of 3-8 professionals, providing guidance on project approach, developing team capabilities, and ensuring effective collaboration toward project goals
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of comprehensive project plans and engagement strategies, aligning deliverables with client business objectives and success metrics
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships across multiple stakeholder groups including client executives, internal Circana teams, and external partners to ensure project alignment and support
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve project challenges, risks, and roadblocks, implementing solutions that keep engagements on track and maintain client satisfaction
  • Communication: Facilitate clear, frequent communication between consulting teams and clients, ensuring all parties remain informed, aligned, and engaged throughout the project
  • Budget Management: Monitor project financials, track expenses against allocated budgets, and optimize resource allocation to maximize project profitability
  • Quality Assurance: Review and validate all project deliverables, ensuring work products meet Circana's quality standards and client requirements before presentation
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue opportunities for follow-on work and expanded client relationships, contributing to the growth and success of the Growth Consulting practice
  • Present findings, insights, and strategic recommendations to client management teams and implement solutions in collaboration with client stakeholders
  • Leverage Circana's proprietary data assets and analytical capabilities to drive actionable insights and competitive advantages for clients

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in business, marketing, economics, or related field); MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 5-8 years of consulting experience, preferably with top-tier strategy consulting firms or equivalent client-facing roles
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Proficiency with consulting tools including advanced PowerPoint, Excel, and analytical tools such as R, SPSS, SAS, Tableau
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex, multi-workstream projects from inception to completion
  • Strong experience in consumer packaged goods, retail, or related industries
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain senior-level client relationships as a trusted advisor
  • Experience leading and developing consulting teams, with strong mentoring and coaching capabilities
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with executive presence and ability to influence at all organizational levels
  • Experience with market research, consumer insights, or syndicated data platforms (Circana, NIQ, etc.) strongly preferred
  • Strong business acumen with understanding of P&L management and budget oversight
  • Ability to travel frequently (10-25%) and work flexible hours to meet client needs
  • Proven ability to identify and develop new business opportunities within existing client relationships
  • Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines
  • Collaborative leadership style with ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The salary range for this role is $145K to $155K.


This job is also eligible for bonus pay.


We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
