Kin is on a mission to change home insurance from what it is to what it should be. Whether we’re leveraging data to create customizable coverage or providing claims service that goes above and beyond expectations, our members are at the heart of everything we do. In the face of ever-growing climate risk, they deserve an insurance company that cares about them. We aim to stick with our members through thick and thin.

We use efficient technology that lets homeowners buy directly from us to keep costs down. This is the essence of Kin. Our approach has fostered amazing growth, attracted marquee investors, and earned us accolades, including being named to:

  • Built In Chicago's Best Places to Work, Midsize Companies (2021-2025).

  • Forbes' America's Best Startup Employers (2021- 2024, Ranked #37 in 2024).

  • Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies.

  • Forbes’ Fintech 50.

Simply put, our people are what make us great – we need forward-thinking, inspired game-changers like you to join us in our mission.

So, what’s the role?

As a Growth Analyst at Kin, you'll sit at the intersection of data, marketing, and strategy—helping us make smarter, faster decisions that drive customer acquisition and business performance.

You’ll analyze marketing channels, optimize forecasting models, and surface insights that unlock new growth opportunities. Your work will shape how Kin evaluates performance, scales marketing spend, and identifies the most impactful growth levers.

Who you are & what you bring

  • You’ve worked in roles like FP&A, consulting, or business intelligence and want to be closer to performance and growth strategy.

  • You’re highly proficient in Excel—comfortable building models from scratch and analyzing large data sets.

  • You know how to use BI tools like Looker to create dashboards and track business performance - and a bonus if you’re able to write SQL queries.

  • You enjoy working cross-functionally—whether it's with marketing to forecast new channels or with ops and product to understand how initiatives impact growth.

  • You’re curious, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator, comfortable sharing insights with stakeholders and leadership.

  • You like solving problems with data, and you thrive in environments where you can move quickly, iterate, and experiment.

  • Insurance experience is helpful, but not required—you learn fast and bring strong analytical thinking to any challenge.

A day in the life could include:

  • Enhancing and optimizing Kin’s new business acquisition modeling for current and future geographies and marketing channels

  • Analyzing subsets or cohorts of data to determine trends that help improve forecast accuracy

  • Build dashboards and other reports using Looker (BI tool) that help provide real-time results and feedback to executive leadership regarding new business acquisition

  • Partnering with the Marketing team to learn and forecast new marketing channels

🚨 Why this role may not be a fit for you 🚨

We’re a fast-moving, data-obsessed team operating in a startup environment. This role won’t be the right fit for everyone—and that’s okay. Please read the below carefully before applying.

This might not be the job for you if:

  • You’re hoping to stay in a traditional finance role. This role is much closer to performance marketing, forecasting, and growth strategy than classic financial planning or reporting.

  • You’re not comfortable in Excel, which is foundational here. If working in spreadsheets isn’t your strength, this role will be challenging.

  • You prefer long planning cycles and rigid structures. We move fast, iterate often, and prioritize speed to insight over perfection.

  • You get overwhelmed by ambiguity. This role requires comfort navigating unclear or evolving priorities and making sense of incomplete data.

  • You want someone else to tell you what to do. We’re looking for a self-starter who can identify opportunities, test ideas, and bring insights forward proactively.

Oh, and don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!

We offer a comprehensive benefits program, allowing you to choose the benefits that are best for you and your family including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and Disability Insurance options, an Employee Assistance Program, as well as elective voluntary benefits such as accident insurance, hospital indemnity, critical illness, legal assistance and pet insurance.

  • In addition to these benefits, we are also excited to offer the following:

    • Competitive salary and equity

    • 401K with a company match of up to 4%

    • Flexible PTO for exempt employees, along with 8 company-observed holidays

    • A paid parental leave program that provides 100% salary continuation of up to 14 weeks for birthing parents and 8 weeks for non-birthing parents

    • Continuing education and professional development opportunities

Kin will accept applications for the role until June 30th, 2025
