What You Will Learn
- Track and analyze federal and state legislative and regulatory issues affecting retail and business operations.
- Conduct research and prepare briefing materials on policy issues for internal stakeholders.
- Assist in drafting communications, position papers, and advocacy materials.
- Support the planning and coordination of government affairs events and meetings.
- Gain exposure to corporate engagement with trade associations and industry coalitions.
- Observe how the Government Affairs team partners with business leaders to align policy strategies with company objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in political science, public policy, business, economics, or related field.
- Expected graduation dates of December 2026 or May 2027.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Proficient in MS Office programs (specifically in Power Point, Excel and data analysis tools).
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational and communication skills.
- Interest in government, policy, and business issues.
- Relevant coursework or prior internship experience.
- Experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization.
