Global Sales Director, Positioning Solutions

Remote US

Novanta’s Positioning Solutions business is hiring a Global Sales Director to lead the commercial organization and steer global revenue strategy. This role reports to the Vice President and General Manager and operates as the senior commercial leader for the business. You will shape strategy, guide execution, and ensure commercial alignment across regions, products, and key accounts.

What you will do:
  • Lead the global commercial organization, including strategy, performance management, and execution across core and emerging markets.
  • Contribute to business unit strategy and long-range planning as part of the Positioning Solutions leadership team.
  • Shape and execute the global commercial growth strategy, including market and segment prioritization, portfolio focus, and regional sequencing.
  • Drive expansion into new markets through global segmented business development teams.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing global sales team with clear accountability and disciplined execution.
  • Strengthen global key account plans, ensuring clear value propositions and long-term customer engagement.
  • Design scalable sales operating models, including coverage, territories, channels, and role clarity.
  • Represent commercial priorities and insights in senior leadership forums, providing clear visibility into customer needs, opportunities, and risks.
  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and regional sales leaders to align commercial plans with product and operational capabilities.
  • Set and communicate clear priorities and expectations across global teams.
What you bring:
  • Extensive global commercial leadership experience in life sciences, diagnostics, or medical device OEM markets.
  • Direct experience selling or supporting component or module-level hardware within OEM development cycles, including research instrumentation, diagnostic systems, or hardware-centric MedTech OEM solutions.
  • Ability to connect long-term strategy with near-term execution and translate direction into actionable, realistic sales priorities.
  • Strong executive presence, analytical depth, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Travel:

Global travel required for customer meetings, regional reviews, go-to-market planning, and key events.

Compensation:

  • The salary for this role will range from $161,600 to $241,615 annually based on full-time employment. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to location, relevant skills, training, experience, education, etc.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives. Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
