About the Role:
Payroll is one of the most critical and visible processes for our global team at Camunda. As Global Payroll Accountant, you’ll be at the center of our efforts to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant payroll across multiple countries and vendors. You’ll help stabilize and scale our payroll operations, work with modern HR and finance tools, and collaborate with HR, Accounting, and external partners. Your impact ensures our employees always get paid correctly and on time while supporting process improvements and automation projects. What you'll be doing:
Process payroll for multiple entities (such as US, DE, UK, SG, and PEO countries), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
Partner with HR, Accounting, and external payroll vendors to gather, review, and validate payroll data (salaries, benefits, deductions, new hires, terminations).
Support payroll reconciliations (clearing accounts, accruals, P&L) and prepare documentation for audits and internal controls.
Identify and support opportunities for process improvements and automation to streamline payroll operations.
Respond to employee questions on payroll, guiding them with clarity and empathy.
What you bring:
Ability and/or willingness to use our product.
Proven experience in multi-entity/global payroll processing, including coordination with third-party payroll vendors
Meticulous attention to detail and a track record of delivering accurate results under tight deadlines
High integrity and discretion in handling sensitive payroll and employee data
Ownership mentality – takes initiative, drives tasks to completion, and demonstrates accountability
Adaptability and strong cross-functional collaboration skills with HR, Accounting, Finance, and vendors
Commitment to compliance and process excellence, ensuring accuracy while seeking improvements
Nice-to-haves:
Experience with US payroll (Gusto) and familiarity with international payroll portals
Hands-on exposure to systems like NetSuite, FloQast, or HRIS (Bob)
Prior involvement in payroll system upgrades or automation projects
Knowledge of benefit accounting or commission plans

Compensation
We offer competitive, fair, and transparent compensation. Salary ranges are location-based, with Standard and Major markets (global tech hubs) reflecting local competition.
The Annual Total Target Cash (base salary + 100% variable target, where applicable) shown below spans from the minimum in a Standard market to the maximum in a Major market. Final offers depend on skills, experience, and location, and we typically hire in the first half of the range to allow room for growth:
United States: $90,900.00 to $149,900.00
Germany: €58,700.00 to €97,100.00
United Kingdom: £57,100.00 to £93,800.00
Singapore: S$112,800.00 to S$169,200
If you’re based elsewhere, you’ll be hired via Remote.com (our global employer partner), and your Talent Acquisition Partner will provide a personalized Total Rewards Calculator after your first interview.
Equity: We also offer equity (where applicable) through our Virtual Stock Option Plan (VSOP).
