Job Description

The Automotive Systems Division of Bose Corporation is seeking a Global Customer Manager (GCM) to work in our Automotive Division office in Bloomfield Hills, MI. The primary responsibility of the GCM to help develop and successfully deploy both global and regional customer sales strategies and account plans consistent with overall ASD goals and initiatives.  More specifically, the GCM will organize and lead the local sales and marketing team to ensure that our customer engagement, new product development, supply chain, business modeling, product line, vehicle launch planning, and resource planning activities are aligned to successfully execute both short and long-term growth and financial objectives. 

Critical tasks and deliverables can be categorized into three (3) main areas:

1.) Account planning and forecasting

  • Oversight and approval of the quarterly forecast and bi-annual LRSP, with particular focus on Targets
  • New technology planning (inputs into the PAC/PRB/AIP processes)

2.) Customer relationship management (CRM)

  • Customer mapping and networking
  • Executive and mid-level relationship planning (all customer interfacing functions in the local region)
  • Developing subject matter expertise around the customer sourcing and planning processes
  • Event planning and support (Bose events, customer events, shows, forums, etc.)

3.) New business acquisition and execution

  • Conducting competitive and market assessments (SWOT’s, MI gathering, etc.)
  • Leading advanced C&S activities including opportunity analysis, target setting, concept car planning, business case scenarios, requirements gathering, etc.)
  • Supporting the Program Approval process
  • Supporting the RFQ response process, supporting follow up customer negotiations, and ensuring new business is secured
  • Working with a cross-functional team to help ensure all critical customer commitments and development milestones are met to ensure a flawless market launch and production

Key metrics may include:

  • Annual booked business results
  • Year over year growth
  • Selling new technology
  • Attaining new customers

Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years’ experience working in the US automotive industry; General Motors (GM) experience preferred
  • Technical and commercial selling experience
  • Experience working at a North American supplier selling complex electrical systems or software enabled solutions
  • Comfortable working in a small, start-up office environment
  • English language fluency a must
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering or business; master’s degree is preferred but not a "must"

Travel:

-Weekly visits to customer HQ, R&D, and other domestic sites

-6-9 trips per year to visit Bose HQ, other Bose offices, auto shows, trade shows, regional customer sites, etc.

Reporting:

Position will report to the North American Sales Director
