The Job:  

As a Global Category Manager (LCM) Purchased, you’ll be part of our Global Supply Management team working as a hybrid employee.  You will manage an established category (belts, hoses, paint, grease, oil and lubricants) and drive continuous, steady improvement.  You’ll get to:  

  • This position will assist in negotiations and will take the lead role in managing individual supplier relationships
  • Deliver Year over Year productivity & working capital goals
  • Work with Businesses/Plants to achieve annual productivity and working capital targets
  • Work closely with all functions (Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Legal, Logistics, IT, etc) to formulate, implement and execute sourcing and continuous improvement strategies
  • Strategic Supplier Management: Analysis and observation of the procurement markets as well as trade fair visits to identify potential sources
  • Material Field Strategy: Creation of global purchasing strategies, especially for purchased components in the categories consisting of Paint, Belts, Rubber Hoses, Grease, and Lubricants
  • Negotiations and Contracts: Negotiate, implement and manage supplier contracts and service level agreements
  • Executive of tenders/benchmarks: Carry out price comparisons with the aim of optimizing the procurement situation, if necessary, initiate price and value analyzes, attempts, substitution of parts / materials
  • Supplier Development: Institute world class procurement / sourcing processes and practices including but not limited to, supplier development & supplier scorecards
  • Implementation of Projects: Planning and implementation of projects as well as implementation of parts of complex large-scale projects

The Person:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 3 years of strategic sourcing experience including supplier selection, supplier management, contract negotiations etc.
  • Minimum 3 years of category strategy or material field strategy experience
  • Knowledge of procurement and sourcing techniques and strategies, supplier integration, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Has special knowledge in the relevant areas of responsibility, ideally in outdoor equipment and/or power tools
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful YOY productivity projects
  • Computer skills (MS Office)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Effective leadership & facilitation skills demonstrated
  • Strong Project, Program management and Problem-solving skills required
  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment, managing multiple and, often times, conflicting priorities
