Generative AI Video Lesson Creator

Project Description

Study.com is the leading educational website with lessons, courses, and practice for students, teachers, and adult learners. We are building three new college-level courses focused on working with generative AI tools and we are seeking College Lesson Video Creators who are subject-matter experts that is able to record short, narrated screen-capture walkthroughs that demonstrate AI-tool tasks. This is a remote contractor role.

Educational Level Required:

Bachelor's degree in a domain-relevant field required; Master's degree and/or college teaching experience preferred.

Years of Experience Needed

Two or more years of hands-on experience in the relevant domain. Screen-recording or tutorial experience is a plus, not required.

Required Skills:

 AI Tool Literacy

- Demonstrated hands-on experience with generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot) in real professional workflows — practical adoption, not just awareness
- Ability to distinguish transformative AI capabilities
- Strong judgment for evaluating AI output quality — can spot when a model's output is plausible but wrong, incomplete, or misleading in a professional context
- Working awareness of prompt engineering fundamentals as applied to their domain

Video Recording & Instructional Delivery

  • Able to screen-record a 4–6-minute walkthrough with clear spoken narration
  • Appropriate recording equipment for high-quality video (clean audio, 1080p screen capture)
  • Proficiency with screen recording and light video editing software (Camtasia, Loom, OBS Studio, ScreenFlow, or equivalent); candidates must own or have access to their preferred tool
  • Comfort with light video touch-up (intro plus watermark logo)
  • Comfortable with voiceover narration; clear, natural delivery at a pace appropriate for instructional content
  • Able to structure a video lesson effectively: clear setup, logical sequencing of steps, and a summary that reinforces key takeaways

Communication:

  • Can write and speak clearly for non-technical college learners
  • Strong written communication — feedback and scripts must be specific, well-organized, and actionable
  • Able to distinguish personal preference from principled critique when reviewing materials
  • Comfortable working asynchronously with an in-house team

Critical Evaluation:

  • Can assess whether an exercise or scenario reflects actual professional practice
  • Can identify gaps between stated learning objectives, the skills being taught, and what learners would actually need to complete a task

Additional Preferred Skills:

Candidates must have working experience in at least one of the three course domains:

- Business Analytics with AI
- Business Communication with AI
- Responsible & Ethical AI Use

We're not looking for AI specialists — we need working professionals who use everyday LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) as part of how they already do their jobs.

  • Active practitioner in their field — a working analyst (SQL, Excel/Sheets, Python/R or a BI tool), a professional in a communication-heavy role (marketing, comms, consulting, client management, HR), or someone who handles AI-use decisions in practice (policy, privacy, disclosure, bias, appropriate use)
  • Uses LLMs in that work routinely — e.g., writing queries and interpreting results; drafting, editing, and adapting business writing; or navigating responsible-use questions — and can demo it on screen
  • Sound judgment on AI output — knows when a response is generic, off-tone, or wrong, and can frame both good and problematic use patterns in a practical way non-technical learners can act on

Nice to Have:

  • Prior screencast, tutorial, or narrated-walkthrough experience
  • AI certificates or an AI-assisted work portfolio
  • Prior experience mentoring, leading internal training, or developing SOPs/documentation
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles or instructional design concepts — informal, on-the-job exposure is sufficient
  • Experience as a student in professional development courses and a strong sense of what "good" looks like from the learner's perspective

What We Offer:

  • Reliable Payments: You'll receive payments twice a month and automated invoicing for your work.
  • Remote Work: This is a fully online contracted work-from-home opportunity.
  • Flexibility: Work when you want, where you want, and select projects that most interest you.
  • Support: Our supportive staff is available answer your questions and help you get up and running.
