Position Title: General Manager

Reports to: Regional Manager

Location: Wake Technical Community College - 9101 Fayetteville Road, Raleigh, North Carolina, 27603 (This role is based across three primary locations, with two additional pop-up sites operating during peak academic semesters - Fall and Spring)

Contract type: Full-Time, Permanent

Shift type: 8 hour shift, Day shift 

Salary: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per annum

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, results-oriented multi-unit General Manager to oversee three store locations on a single campus. This leader will manage overall retail operations, drive sales initiatives, coach and develop site-level managers, and maintain strong campus and customer relationships.

This is a highly visible and collaborative role—ideal for a retail professional experienced in multi-site leadership and passionate about supporting student success.

What You Will Be Doing

Sales & Operations

  • Work with the Course Materials manager to collect, enter and analyze adoptions for order placement and maintain regular communication with campus stakeholders regarding status. Introduce and promote the most affordable option for the student.
  • Meet sales goals by training, motivating and providing feedback to sales staff.
  • Conduct regular in-person visits to each store to assess and support operational excellence.
  • Lead execution of company merchandising standards to deliver a best-in-class retail experience.
  • Oversee inventory lifecycle across locations: order placement, receiving, returns, tagging, and vendor coordination.
  • Manage and follow up on Accounts Receivable, Invoices, Chargebacks, and stock shipments.

Talent Development & Leadership

  • Hire, train, coach, and develop site managers and store associates to meet business goals and uphold company values.
  • Foster a collaborative, engaged team culture focused on results and exceptional service.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and support career growth for all team members.

Campus & Partner Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with faculty, staff, and campus stakeholders.
  • Lead regular business reviews with campus partners and identify areas of improvement or partnership.
  • Promote and expand Day 1 access adoption, ensuring students have affordable materials from day one.

Customer Experience

  • Coach store teams on customer service best practices and ensure delivery of a consistent, positive experience.
  • Monitor and address customer issues promptly and partner with Regional Manager for escalated concerns.
  • Serve as the point of contact for customer feedback, resolution, and service recovery when needed.

What We Are Looking For

Must Have:

  • 3+ years of multi-unit retail or campus store management experience.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills across multiple locations.
  • Ability to interpret and act on financial and operational reports.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with inventory and POS systems.

Good to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Background in campus retail or educational services.
