    Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal GCP Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) networking to join the Cloud Infrastructure Engineering (CIS) organization within Technology Infrastructure.
    As a Principal Engineer, you will serve as a strategic technical leader responsible for advancing Wells Fargo's hybrid cloud architecture, driving secure and scalable cloud platform engineering, and enabling the adoption of modern AI‑ready infrastructure patterns. You will influence enterprise cloud standards, architect next‑generation networking capabilities, and guide engineering teams through complex design decisions as we continue to expand our cloud footprint.

    In this role, you will:
    • Function as a senior subject matter authority on GCP networking, hybrid connectivity, and enterprise cloud architecture
    • Lead the design, evolution, and adoption of GCP networking patterns, including Shared VPC, Private Service Connect, VPC-SC, global load balancing, DNS, NAT, firewall architectures, and hybrid connectivity (Interconnect/VPN)
    • Provide architectural guidance and strategic direction for building AI‑ready cloud platforms, enabling ML workloads, high‑performance data paths, and secure AI service integration
    • Influence enterprise cloud strategy by contributing to platform roadmaps, engineering standards, and multi‑year modernization plans
    • Champion engineering excellence by driving adoption of secure development practices, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), and automated governance frameworks
    • Partner with architecture, security, data, and AI engineering groups to deliver compliant, scalable, and cost‑optimized solutions
    • Lead complex technical investigations, incident analysis, and long‑term remediation strategies for cloud networking and hybrid connectivity
    • Provide technical mentorship and thought leadership across engineering teams-raising the overall engineering maturity of the organization
    • Collaborate with product owners and senior technology leaders to deliver cloud services that align with business priorities, risk requirements, and operational resilience targets
    • Apply deep problem‑solving expertise to proactively identify systemic issues, challenge assumptions, and drive innovation in cloud networking and platform engineering

    Required Qualifications (U.S.):
    • 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
    • 7+ years of engineering or technical leadership experience
    • 5+ years of cloud engineering experience
    • 5+ years architecting, deploying, and securing cloud platforms
    • 3+ years building enterprise-grade cloud solutions
    • 3+ years hands‑on engineering experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
    • Expert-level experience in GCP networking technologies and architectures
    • 2+ years experience with Terraform or equivalent IaC tooling

    Desired Qualifications:
    • 5+ years of experience with public cloud platforms
    • Deep expertise in cloud-native network design, scalable connectivity architectures, and secure multi‑tenant patterns
    • Experience engineering cloud platforms capable of supporting AI/ML and high‑performance compute
    • Strong background in secure DevOps, CI/CD automation, and cloud governance
    • Experience applying enterprise architecture principles to large-scale cloud initiatives
    • Knowledge of cloud-native design (12-factor), DevSecOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies
    • Professional cloud certifications-especially GCP Network Engineer, Cloud Architect, or Security Engineer
    • Proven ability to influence senior leaders, architecture boards, and cross‑functional engineering teams
    • Exceptional communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to articulate complex architectures to diverse audiences

    Job Expectations
    • On-site presence required at the location specified in the posting
    • Travel up to 5%
