The G/FORE Director of Marketing & Creative will oversee and lead the brand voice in all marketing/brand initiatives. This role is responsible for standardizing the workflow for the creative team, working in tandem with all departments on creative for all high-level marketing initiatives. This is an internal and external facing role which means strong communication, collaboration, and customer service skills are essential. This role will be a key asset on the marketing team with a focus on managing the Photography team, Digital Design team, and Copywriter -- supporting the team to meet daily and weekly deadlines, troubleshooting daily issues that may arise, while ensuring exceptional quality. Strong organizational skills and an ability to oversee smooth production flow are essential. This position is for a hardworking, media savvy and extremely detail oriented individual, with an ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment and possesses excellent communication skills while keeping their team motivated, encouraging creativity and innovation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Act as brand guardian for all creative assets by making sure requests and final product are aligned with brand guidelines and strategic goals. 
  • Structure the creative process, strategy, and team to be able to handle the growing volume and creative demands of an evolving brand. 
  • Storyboard and lead execution on brand creative assets to support all business silos: Ecomm/digital, wholesale, international, social, and retail.
  • Build and manage the G/FORE calendar for all creative assets including ecommerce and campaign photography and video, social needs, and copy.
  • Work closely with the Director of Brand Marketing to develop and maintain calendars for advertising, marketing, collateral, and events to ensure content is captured as needed.
  • Work side-by-side with the digital team to manage gfore.com;
    supply required assets for activations, new product releases & collection launches.
  • Lead other special projects as needed (ie. Catalogs, inserts for e-comm orders, player and influencer content, event initiatives, etc.
  • Work closely with brand leadership to identify opportunities and challenges; tackle tasks and ensure that business goals are met.   
  • Oversee the Copywriter in making sure the G/FORE brand voice is cohesive and consistent across all marketing and brand collateral, including DTC and B2B.
  • Work with Sales, Merchandising, Design and Store teams to understand nature and timing of product launches to provide the accompanying marketing materials for all wholesale and retail efforts.
  • Oversee budgeting for the Creative team, working with managers to ensure timely and accurate invoicing, and communicating clearly with the Finance team.
  • Lead the team to ensure legal usage rights are aligned with the company need, helping mentor the management team to negotiate and take bids.
  • Coordinate with the team to keep a strong asset management plan for cross-functional clarity and accurate usage intention for all content.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Comfortable liaising at all levels within the business to understand cross-department creative needs with a collaborative mindset
  • Excellent work ethic paired with a positive attitude to meet demands and deadlines as a team leader in a highly pressurized environment with shifting needs, multiple priorities, and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly and effectively summarize information to all teams and executives.
  • Pro-active and able to show initiative to constantly improve the studio workflow.
  • Strong organizational, logistical, and time management skills.
  • Ability to produce and lead multiple creative mediums including web and print with photo, video, & motion graphics.
  • Must understand foundational design concepts such as spatial relations & typography;

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Advertising, Communications, Marketing or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of project management experience in the fashion or sports industry.
  • Experience in a studio environment, understanding various position flows and needs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft for reporting and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of asset management tools such as Global Edit or Creative Force is a plus.
  • Understanding of project management tools such as Monday.com, Asana, or similar.
  • Prior experience working with a luxury brand is a plus;
