Role Title: Funds Attorney

Role Type: Contractor

Location: Remote

We are seeking experienced Funds Attorneys for a part-time opportunity at the intersection of legal expertise and artificial intelligence. This role is ideal for accomplished legal professionals with experience in investment funds who are interested in helping shape the next generation of AI-powered legal solutions.

Leveraging your expertise in drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and redlining fund-related agreements, you will evaluate AI-generated legal work, contribute to the development of high-quality training data, and help improve how AI systems interpret legal language, identify contractual risks, and support sophisticated legal decision-making.


RequirementsKey Responsibilities
  • Perform simulated negotiations and redlining exercises involving investment fund documentation.
  • Review and evaluate AI-generated responses to fund-related legal scenarios, providing detailed feedback to improve model accuracy and legal reasoning.
  • Develop structured evaluation frameworks, scoring rubrics, and quality standards for assessing AI performance on fund formation and transactional legal tasks.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary product, research, and engineering teams to refine AI training datasets, legal guidelines, and best practices.
  • Apply practical legal judgment to identify contractual risks, drafting issues, and negotiation strategies within complex fund documentation.
  • Contribute subject matter expertise to improve AI systems designed for legal research, contract review, and transactional analysis.
Required Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the Investment Funds practice group of a corporate law firm.
  • Strong familiarity with investment fund documentation, including Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs), Subscription Agreements, and Side Letters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities with the capability to translate legal expertise into structured, actionable feedback.
  • Demonstrated interest in legal innovation and emerging technologies.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with AI, legal technology platforms, or AI training and evaluation projects.
  • Experience advising private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, or other investment fund sponsors.
  • Familiarity with legal operations, contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms, or enterprise legal technology solutions.
