Job Overview:

We are looking for a Software Developer/Tech Lead who will be part of the Technology organization that is responsible for modernizing, developing and managing innovative products in Wealth Planning solutions space for advisors and home office. This is a hands-on technical lead role that requires working with key stakeholders to deliver set vision and integrated capabilities via self-service on the investor-facing platforms and experiences. A successful candidate will focus on fostering engineering excellence and leading high-performing teams with an open innovative culture. Work with a dynamic high-caliber, cross-functional team including engineering, product, and design to create world-class products. Lead the team in an empowering environment to create high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • As a Tech Lead, guide the team’s development efforts towards successful project delivery and application support.

  • Design, develop, test, and implement technical solutions based on premise and on AWS in a Containerized Microservices Architecture

  • Provide technical leadership to teammates through technical design, code reviews and implementation of best practices, adhering to LPL’s SDLC and RM processes.

  • Collaborate with other Development teams, Enterprise Architecture and Support teams to design, develop, test, and maintain the various platforms and their integration with other systems.

  • Assess opportunities for application and process improvements and prepare documentation outlining the platform road map.

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing systems.

  • Communicate with technical and non-technical groups regularly as part of product/project support.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience with a combination of Java, Angular, JavaScript, API integrations, Git, JSON, XML, front-end technologies and SQL & No-SQL databases. Experience in creating ETL and data pipelines from structured and unstructured sources (e.g. text files)

  • 5+ years of experience in a Lead capacity, guiding the team’s development efforts towards successful project delivery and application support.

  • 7+ years of experience in hands-on design, development, and implementation of complex systems, including data and reporting.

  • 5+ years of experience in Full-stack development designing interactive web applications, developing microservices, public cloud solutions, web services (REST/SOAP APIs), Kafka messaging, CI/CD pipelines and integrating with vendor APIs. AWS cloud experience with serverless application architecture, end-to-end cloud development and deployment

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both technical and non-technical

  • Strong estimation, foresight, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to interface with customers to gather business needs and to present solutions.

  • Capable of effectively planning, prioritizing, and executing tasks utilizing resources and tools

  • Be a team player, continue learning and help teach new or junior members of the team.

Preferences:

  • Object Oriented Programming and design experience within Java and/or .NET

  • Experience using modern application/API containerization and container orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Nginx etc.)

  • Experience in financial industry, particularly in wealth & asset management organization.

  • Reporting and Data experience

  • AWS experience in fine-tuning applications for scalability and performance, including EKS, Aurora, Glue (orchestration, Crawlers, Catalogs, Jobs), S3, Athena, RDS, CloudWatch, Lambda, and Terraform. AWS Certification(s).

Pay Range:

$140,475-$234,125/year
 
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
