Project: Economic Data Application Enhancements – Government of Alberta (JETI)
The Client’s Ministry of Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration (JETI) is seeking an experienced Full Stack / Cloud Application Developer to support modernization, enhancement, and maintenance of several investment and economic intelligence web applications. These applications provide investors, businesses, exporters, and economic developers with critical economic, infrastructure, and market data through interactive dashboards, mapping tools, and analytics platforms.
The resource will collaborate with product owners, designers, developers, and business stakeholders to design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable web applications and cloud-based data solutions. The role also includes troubleshooting production issues, implementing automated testing, supporting CI/CD processes, and ensuring high application availability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop frontend website architecture and backend web applications
- Maintain, modernize, and enhance legacy applications
- Develop and integrate REST/SOAP APIs and web services
- Build scalable cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies
- Design and develop SQL-based data pipelines and ETL processes
- Create responsive and interactive user interfaces
- Work with data visualization and mapping libraries such as AmCharts, Mapbox, Leaflet, and ArcGIS
- Perform unit testing, QA validation, and support UAT activities
- Monitor application, API, and website performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve production defects
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint activities
- Support CI/CD pipelines and release management
- Maintain technical documentation and change records
- Coordinate deployment and release schedules
- Provide technical expertise and recommendations to business units
- Support transition to operations and warranty activities
- Provide on-call support when required
Requirements
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of experience architecting complex web-based component solutions
- Minimum 4 years of SQL/data pipeline development experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience analyzing application, API, and website performance
- Minimum 4 years supporting Azure cloud services including Azure SQL and Azure Data Factory
- Experience with full-stack development and cloud-native application support
- Strong experience with frontend technologies and responsive web design
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
