About the Role

We’re looking for a Fulfillment Systems Engineer to join our growing Operations team. This role will be the subject matter expert for our proprietary operations platform, Canopy, and will partner with our Senior Manager of Fulfillment Systems & Analytics on the end-to-end development of the platform. This role blends technical development (primarily Python and Django) with hands-on collaboration across Fulfillment, Supply Chain, and Transportation teams.

We are looking for someone who is excited about the opportunity to apply a continuous improvement mindset, technical best practices and cross-functional collaboration to identify and execute on technical solutions that improve operational effectiveness and support long-term scalability. The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of operational processes, is excited about high quality code and building for scalability and performance, and takes ownership in driving improvements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as the SME for Canopy, our proprietary fulfillment operations system. This includes optimizing workflows, ensuring seamless integrations with fulfillment-related platforms, managing system configurations and deploying new features and updates, developing python scripts to automate fulfillment workflows, troubleshooting issues and maintaining technical documentation. 
  • Identify and implement data-driven system / process improvements using Six Sigma methodologies, in partnership with operations (Fulfillment, Inventory, Transportation, Supply Chain).
  • Work with warehouse teams to enhance inventory and order processing systems.
  • Troubleshoot and debug system issues, collaborate with stakeholders to develop long-term preventative solutions. 
  • Assist with Docker-based deployments and basic server maintenance.
  • Continuously seek out performance bottlenecks, risks, and maintenance overhead, collaborating with team members to enhance the system’s robustness and scalability.
  • Complete one-off analysis of operational data using Looker and SQL to provide actionable insights. Build and maintain dashboards for supply chain and fulfillment performance.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Technical & Analytical Proficiency: Intermediate SQL and Python skills for data querying, automation, and scripting; basic familiarity with Django, web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), and containerization technologies like Docker; proficiency in Excel and business intelligence tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
  • Operational & Problem-Solving Expertise: Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, adapt to dynamic challenges, and apply analytical thinking to operational improvements; Six Sigma Green Belt certification (preferred) for process optimization.
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a relevant role.
  • Project Management & Collaboration: Strong communication skills for cross-functional teamwork, ability to manage projects independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and deliver high-quality work with attention to detail.

Expected Pay Range:
$90,000 - $115,000
