Who We Are
At Babylist, the work our fulfillment teams do reaches millions of families across the country — whether you're on the floor moving product or leading the operation that makes it happen. We're one of the leading platforms for expecting and new families — a $750M business with 10 million customers and eight consecutive years of profitability. Our fulfillment centers are where the mission becomes real, and the people who run them are a core part of how we deliver on it every single day.
Our Ways of Working
Our fulfillment teams work on-site in a fast-paced, team-driven environment where every role — from the floor to leadership — plays a direct part in delivering the Babylist experience to millions of families.
What the Role Is
This role supports our Day Shift operations on-site at our Fulfillment Center in Commercial Point, Ohio, working Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM on a 4/10 schedule. Babylist is hiring a highly floor-driven Fulfillment Operations Manager to lead a team of 190+ employees across fulfillment, inbound receiving, returns, and our kitting operation — including the team responsible for building Babylist’s core kits. This shift plays a critical role in the building, managing most inbound appointments and the majority of returns processing for the operation.
This is a hands-on operational leadership role where you’ll spend the majority of your time on the floor coaching frontline leaders, monitoring workflow, resolving issues in real time, and keeping the operation running safely and efficiently. You’ll partner closely with Inventory, Safety, HR, and shift leadership teams while balancing daily execution with continuous operational improvement.
This role is built for leaders who thrive in fast-moving DTC or e-commerce fulfillment environments where operational decisions, people leadership, and floor execution happen in real time. If you’re coming from traditional B2B or case-pick distribution — or prefer managing primarily through reports and meetings instead of being deeply present on the floor — this will be a challenging role.
Who You Are
- 7+ years of people leadership experience in warehouse or fulfillment operations, including 3–5+ years operating at the Operations Manager level leading supervisors or manager-level leaders in high-volume environments
- Deep experience in DTC or e-commerce fulfillment operations with high-volume unit-pick workflows — not primarily traditional B2B, pallet-moving, or case-pick distribution environments
- Proven experience leading large hourly workforces of 150+ employees across multiple operational functions including fulfillment, inbound receiving, inventory, returns, or kitting
- Strong operational leadership experience inside fast-moving startup, scale-up, or high-growth environments where processes, labor models, and workflows are still evolving
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams with empathy and consistency, building trust across employees from different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences while maintaining a strong, accountable team culture
- Proven ability to drive accountability and manage employee relations situations with fairness, consistency, and sound judgment while operating within Babylist’s culture and leadership expectations
- Experienced using warehouse management systems (WMS) to manage operational performance, labor efficiency, inventory accuracy, and workflow optimization. Experience with HighJump/Koerber is strongly preferred
- Comfortable working highly visible, floor-driven shifts that require extensive walking, real-time coaching, and fast operational decision-making across a 10+ hour shift
- Strong command of operational KPIs including productivity, quality, safety, throughput, and labor efficiency, with a track record of improving measurable performance outcomes
- You're genuinely excited about what AI can do — not just as a concept, but as something you want to get your hands on. At Babylist, every team uses AI daily, and we're looking for people who lean in.
How You Will Make An Impact
- Lead day shift fulfillment operations across outbound fulfillment, inbound receiving, returns processing, and kitting while ensuring the operation runs safely, efficiently, and on schedule
- Own the operational execution for Babylist’s kitting function, supporting the team responsible for assembling some of the company’s most important customer-facing products
- Drive labor planning and workflow coordination across multiple operational areas to maintain throughput targets and minimize downstream operational disruption
- Serve as the primary on-site operational leader for day shift, making real-time decisions that balance employee experience, safety, productivity, and business needs
- Coach and develop frontline leaders through consistent floor presence, direct feedback, accountability conversations, and operational problem-solving
- Partner closely with HR and leadership to address employee relations issues, performance management situations, attendance concerns, and policy enforcement with fairness and consistency
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements that improve productivity, inventory accuracy, workflow efficiency, and shift-to-shift consistency
- Maintain strong operational partnerships across Inventory, Safety, Transportation, and other shift leadership teams to ensure alignment across the fulfillment center
- Use operational data, labor reporting, and WMS insights to monitor performance trends, prioritize resources, and improve execution across the building
- Reinforce a safety-first culture where compliance, operational discipline, and accountability are embedded into daily team management and floor operations
- Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 10–12 hours per shift) with scheduled breaks
- Walk the floor extensively, averaging 10,000+ steps per day
- Lift and move items up to 20 lbs regularly throughout the shift
- Frequent pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and repetitive motion
