The company

Netcraft is the global leader in cybercrime detection and disruption. We are a trusted partner for three of the four largest companies in the world, twelve of the fifty largest banks, and eight of the world’s largest country governments. We've blocked more than 200 million cyber-attacks to date, and we take down around 33% of the world's phishing attacks.

Our purpose, passion and expertise are focused on one thing: protecting the world from cybercrime. We carry that passion into our workplace too. Our people are highly talented, and everyone is valued for their own contribution. That’s one of the many reasons Netcraft is a great place to work. From free lunches to culture and recognition, we’ve got you covered.

The role

We are looking for an experienced Frontend Engineer to join a focussed team with responsibility for a key client-facing product within Netcraft’s portfolio.

As a Frontend Engineer, you will assume several critical responsibilities:

  • Build efficient and reusable front-end abstractions, while maintaining a comprehensive component library
  • Collaborate closely with our talented product design team to bring the next generation of Netcraft’s products to life. You'll take Figma designs and transform them into functional and visually stunning interfaces
  • Take a lead role in advancing the consistency and unity of our product user interfaces; and
  • Maintain high engineering standards with a thorough understanding of code quality, a test-driven approach and a well-maintained CI/CD delivery flow.

The team also manages a backend written in Go. A working knowledge of Go is not a requirement to apply for this role. However, we are looking for candidates with an open mindset, willingness to learn and ability to take the initiative and step up to new challenges in a small group context.

Our tech stack includes:

  • Frontend: Next.js, React.js, Tailwind, TypeScript
  • Design System: Radix, Storybook, Figma
  • Libraries & Tools: React Hook Form, TanStack Query, Orval, React Testing Library
  • Backend: Typescript, tRPC, Go, OpenAPI, RabbitMQ, MariaDB
  • Infrastructure: Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS

To be successful, you’ll need:

  • Substantial commercial experience delivering and hardening production frontend systems
  • Strong skills in React, frontend and server-side TypeScript, Tailwind, CSS, HTML, and common related libraries/tools
  • A solid understanding in core web and browser concepts, including secure web design practices
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with your colleagues across engineering, product and design
  • A positive, solution-oriented mindset, ability to take ownership of your work and the desire to push yourself and learn new things.

Bonus points if you have:

  • A history of successfully creating and delivering frontend projects from the ground up
  • Experience working with or supporting front-end design systems, especially with component libraries like Storybook
  • Experience with Go, backend-for-frontend solutions and server-side technologies.

At Netcraft we strongly believe in individual growth and development so even if you can't tick every box above right now, please don't let it put you off applying.

The reward package:

We like to look after our people well and help them feel engaged and supported, so the reward package includes:

  • Highly attractive salary, reviewed annually
  • Hybrid and flexible working options, to support a positive work-life balance
  • 33 days holiday per annum (incl. public holidays), rising to 37 days with length of service
  • Salary sacrifice pension scheme membership with 4% employer contributions + NI savings
  • Extensive private health cover, including access to a private GP service
  • Comprehensive wellness and support provisions
  • Enhanced family leave provisions
  • Life Assurance (4x salary)
  • Two days paid Volunteering Leave per year
  • Free meals, drinks and snacks provided daily in the offices
  • Regular social events such as a big summer party, Christmas dinners, and annual kick-off
  • A tax-efficient cycle to work scheme
  • An inclusive culture and environment, where you’ll feel genuinely valued and respected.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

This is very important to us and through our ally network we actively support under-represented groups. We seek to maintain a working environment that is free from bias, harassment or discrimination, and we encourage candidates from any background to apply, regardless of their gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race/ethnicity, ability/disability, age, religion, or any other specific characteristics.
