This position pays between $47,400 - $81,750 based on experience
The Front-End Operation Supervisor is a key leader responsible for overseeing and coordinating all front-end services including patient access, pre-access, BIA, public benefits and technology within the Transformation Pillar. This role demands exceptional organizational and communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to travel 100% of the time.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel: Must be able to travel up to 100% of the time.
- Experience: Will have a primary focus on one function of front end but will be trained to cover all areas and expected to rotate across all areas of Front End as needed
- Coordination and Registration: Coordinates all registration duties with direct and indirect reporting employees. Ensure registration and pre-registration duties are completed daily and identify any gaps in the system not allowing them to be performed as expected.
- Performance Tracking: Provides and reviews reporting to track department performance in key metrics including point of service, wait times, overtime, productivity, orders, pending applications and time to initiate notice of admission and other items as necessary. Assists with identifying gaps and developing departmental processes and procedures.
- Project Management: Manages assigned projects regarding implementing, tracking, testing and process changes for new technology.
- Supervision: Supervises daily activities for assigned area to impact including, registration, centralized Pre-Access staff, who are responsible for selecting accurate medical records for patient safety, scheduling appropriate procedures based on physician orders, providing proper patient instructions, pre-registering patients, obtaining and validating demographic and insurance information, working with insurance companies and/or physician offices to complete insurance authorization requirements to secure payment, and providing excellent customer service.
- Data Collection and Interpretation: Collects, interprets, and communicates performance data using various tools and systems, while also using this data to make decisions on how to achieve performance goals.
- Collaboration: Works collaboratively with other revenue cycle departments and associates with a special emphasis on Case Management, Patient Access, Financial Counseling, and Physician office staff.
- Innovation: Continuously innovate by embracing emerging technology and fostering a culture of creativity and experimentation.
- Monitors workflow and action planning for successful KPI measures. Functions as subject matter expert and staff resource for department policies & procedures, hospital system policies and procedures, and government benefit programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a healthcare setting.
- Exceptional organizational and leadership skills.
- The ability to travel 100% of the time.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using data collection and interpretation tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
Employment Qualifications
Minimum years and type of experience:
- 2 years' experience interacting with patients regarding hospital financial issues.
- Superior customer service skills and ability to communicate with all levels effectively.
- Accustomed to substantial computer use and possesses a strong ability to multi-task required.
Other knowledge, skills, and abilities preferred:
- 4 year/bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED. The combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
