About the Role:

We're looking for a front-end engineer to join our team to raise the bar for UI accessibility as we build our nextgen UI framework and design system. It's an exciting opportunity to influence the direction of our front-end architecture in the cybersecurity space. This role will collaborate closely with product design and UI engineering teams with a heavy focus on accessibility. If you are passionate about building complex user interfaces that can be used by everyone, this role is perfect for you.

What You'll Do:

  • Ensure Accessibility Compliance - Through UI development, testing, and code reviews to ensure components and systems meet WCAG 2.2 guidelines including:

    • Semantic HTML implementation

    • Proper ARIA roles and attributes

    • Sufficient color contrast ratios

    • Keyboard navigation and focus state management

    • Descriptive and legible UI text

    • Accessible form development

    • Optimized screen reader announcements

  • Conduct Regular Accessibility Audits - Review components and systems for compliance with accessibility standards

  • Provide Expert Guidance - Respond to coworkers' accessibility inquiries and provide accurate, compliant resolutions

  • Collaborate Cross-functionally - Work with backend engineers, product designers, and product managers

  • Triage and Prioritize - Manage accessibility issues based on severity, impact, and urgency

  • Documentation and Testing - Maintain comprehensive documentation and write tests that validate accessibility functionality

What You'll Need:
  • Expert knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 and WAI-ARIA 1.2

  • Proficiency with screen readers (VoiceOver for Mac, JAWS/NVDA for Windows) and accessibility testing tools (Axe, Google Lighthouse)

  • Experience building user-centric and scalable UI frameworks and design systems

  • Expert knowledge of modern web standards and front-end engineering tools (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web Components, REST API, GraphQL, TypeScript, Node/NPM, Responsive UI)

  • Understanding of cloud technologies and end-to-end delivery of data-intensive SaaS products

  • Experience with localization and internationalization (i18n)

  • Experience with front-end frameworks such as React/Next.js, Vue, Ember, or Lit

  • Knowledge of CI/CD best practices and tools for improving and maintaining performance and code quality

  • Strong communication skills in both verbal and written formats

  • Passion for UX consistency, accessibility, and empathy for the end user

Bonus Points:
  • Familiarity with Section 508 audits and compliance, European Accessibility Act (EAA), and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

  • IAAP certifications such as CPACC (Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies), WAS (Web Accessibility Specialist), or CPWA (Certified Professional in Web Accessibility)

  • Experience integrating aXe Core into CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience conducting user testing with people with disabilities

  • Contributions to open-source accessibility projects or tools

  • Experience training and educating team members on accessibility principles and best practice

CrowdStrike, Inc. is committed to equal pay for equal work in its compensation practices. The base salary range for this position in the U.S. is $110,000 - $180,000 per year + variable/incentive compensation + equity + benefits. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location.
