At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

As a Franchise Planning Manager at Netflix Games, you will play a key role in shaping how some of Netflix’s most important IPs show up across games and interactive experiences. You’ll operate at the portfolio level, organizing, aligning, and connecting the many opportunities for our IPs across Netflix Games.

You will work across multiple flagship IPs, partnering with Game Teams, Franchise/Brand, Licensing, Transmedia and other cross-functional groups. Your focus is on orchestrating the bigger picture: where and how each franchise appears in games, how those experiences fit together, and how they complement what’s happening in series, films, and other member touchpoints.

You’ll sit within the Portfolio Production & Operations organization on the Portfolio Management Team, serving as a lead hub for cross-functional coordination, visibility, and long-term franchise planning for games.

Key Responsibilities

Franchise Vision & Portfolio Mapping

  • Partner with Franchise/Brand Leads to understand the long-term vision for each franchise and map the games portfolio to that vision, clarifying how each game fits and supports the franchise over time.

  • Maintain a franchise games portfolio map for each IP, covering current titles, in-development opportunities, experimental concepts, and potential future spaces (genres, audiences, platforms).

  • Help articulate how different game and interactive opportunities fit together into a cohesive franchise narrative and player journey.

  • Keep franchise presence in games aligned with broader Netflix plans (series, films, events, consumer products, etc.), flagging gaps, overlaps, and coordination needs.

Cross-Functional Orchestration

  • Act as a central coordination point for how each franchise shows up across games and interactive experiences, ensuring visibility and alignment among stakeholders.

  • Participate in regular franchise touchpoints (e.g., reviews, planning sessions, roadmapping meetings) with Franchise/Brand, Production, Portfolio, Transmedia, and Licensing.

  • Ensure that title-level teams understand franchise priorities, guardrails, and key moments, and that franchise teams have clear visibility into what’s happening in games.

  • Work with cross-functional partners to connect game plans with promotional, marketing, and cross-media initiatives across the Netflix ecosystem.

Planning, Roadmapping & Communication

  • Contribute to and help drive the development and ongoing refinement of multi-year franchise games roadmaps across multiple IPs, in partnership with senior leaders.

  • Organize and maintain clear, accessible documentation on franchise-related game initiatives, timelines, dependencies, and key decision points.

  • Prepare and share portfolio-level views for leaders that summarize where each franchise is today, what’s planned, and where there may be risks or opportunities.

  • Help align roadmaps with major franchise beats (e.g., new seasons, films, live events) and Netflix-wide priorities.

Quality, Consistency & Member Experience

  • Champion franchise consistency and quality across all game-related touchpoints, in close collaboration with Franchise/Brand and production teams.

  • Support teams in ensuring each opportunity feels authentic, additive, and respectful of the IP.

  • Use data, player insights, and cross-functional feedback to surface patterns and learnings about what resonates for each franchise in games, and share those learnings broadly.

  • Help build and maintain franchise playbooks, guidelines, and best practices for how IPs should show up in games and interactive experiences.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years in games, entertainment, or media in roles such as franchise management, brand management, portfolio/product strategy, IP strategy, or production.

  • Experience working with franchise or IP-driven content (e.g., film/TV-based IP, comics, major brands), ideally across multiple titles or formats.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience aligning creative, production, marketing, business, and/or legal stakeholders around shared franchise goals.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize complex portfolios: roadmapping, portfolio mapping, and maintaining clear visibility across multiple concurrent initiatives.

  • Excellent communication and synthesis skills, able to turn a wide range of inputs into clear summaries, options, and recommendations for decision-makers.

  • Solid understanding of the game development ecosystem and how games are built and operated.

  • Experience in platform, portfolio, or franchise strategy roles at a game publisher, entertainment studio, or major content platform is a plus.

  • Comfortable working in a matrixed organization, where influence, alignment, and clarity are key to moving work forward.

  • Passion for franchises, world-building, and connected experiences, and an interest in how games can extend stories and deepen fan engagement.

  • Los Angeles preferred; remote considered.
