Location

This position will be based in Charlotte, NC.

Summary of Role 

The FP&A Manager is a critical role within the Finance team at Palmetto, supporting the Strategic Finance function for all of the tax equity and home improvement fund partnerships the company is party to. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this individual will own all forecasting & analysis of the P&L and cash flows for multiple tax equity fund partnerships, as well as our home improvement funds. They will serve as a business partner with leadership in the Finance and Capital Markets organization and be a key partner for supporting the growth of our new HVAC financing business. This is a unique opportunity to play a vital role in the dynamic cleantech industry at one of the fastest growing companies in the country!

Strategic & Tactical

  • Manage full scope FP&A process for our new HVAC financing business as well as our tax equity funds & partnerships including:
    • Annual planning process & monthly re-forecast
    • Monthly review of Actuals vs Plan
    • Cashflow forecasting & analysis
  • Act as a strategic partner to leaders across Finance and Capital Markets, delivering insights that inform decision making and capital allocation
  • Build financial models to support forecasting & scenario analysis
  • Partner with the business to evaluate unit economics, margin improvement opportunities, and growth initiatives, especially in our HVAC vertica
  • Support investor relations & financial reporting needs across all of our partnerships
  • Identify and implement process improvements that streamline reporting, increase accuracy, and reduce cycle timelines

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
  • 2-5 years FP&A experience, with demonstrated ownership of forecasts, models, and performance reporting
  • 2+ years of experience in banking or capital markets with solar industry experience preferred
  • Strong financial modeling skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills with deep understanding of the macroeconomic landscape 
  • Proactively identifies improvement opportunities across systems and processes, and implements solutions and updates them
  • Highly motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced customer-centric environment where priorities may change quickly
  • Collaborates seamlessly with internal teams
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills; can present to varying audiences and leaders
  • Comfortable operating in a fast paced, dynamic environment with evolving priorities
