The OpportunityAt Flock Safety, we’re building the first public safety operating system to help communities and law enforcement solve and prevent crime. With the launch of Nova—our newest investigative tool—demand is rapidly growing, and sales teams need strong technical partners who can educate customers, run demos, and guide agencies through complex buying decisions.
This role exists to solve a clear problem: bridging the gap between product expertise and customer decision-making. You’ll serve as the subject matter expert for FlockOS and Nova, helping our sales team expand adoption, enabling customers to understand how our products fit into their ecosystem, and ultimately driving growth in a brand-new, high-potential market.
If an offer is extended and accepted, this position requires the ability to obtain and maintain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification as a condition of employment. Applicants must meet all FBI CJIS Security Policy requirements, including a fingerprint-based background check.
The Skillset
To succeed as a Solution Specialist, you’ll need a mix of technical fluency, consultative presence, and customer empathy. We’re looking for candidates who bring:
Background in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields
Hands-on experience with public safety or GovTech systems (CAD, RMS, LPR, JMS, CJIS/NIBRS, ATAK, GIS, etc.)
Strong presentation and live demo skills—both virtual and in-person
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, value-driven narratives
Experience supporting government or public safety sales cycles, ideally working with sworn staff, command staff, or IT leaders
Comfort in a startup / scaling environment where processes evolve and roles overlap
Bonus: Prior GovTech sales engineering or investigative software experience

90 Days at FlockWe believe good days lead to good weeks, which lead to good months. Here’s what you can expect in your first 90 days as a FlockOS/Nova Solution Specialist:
The First 30 Days
Get fully onboarded into Flock’s mission, values, and product suite
Shadow sales calls and demos to observe customer interactions and product positioning
Ramp on Nova and FlockOS technical capabilities, integrations, and compliance requirements
Build internal relationships with Sales Engineering, Product, and GTM leaders
The First 60 Days
Begin owning portions of demos with coaching and support
Partner with Account Executives and Regional Sales Directors to identify opportunities where Nova and FlockOS can add value
Develop a working knowledge of competitive positioning (e.g., Peregrine, Axon)
Build credibility with cross-functional teams through preparation, follow-through, and collaboration
90 Days & Beyond
Fully own end-to-end demos and consultative scoping sessions with customers
Act as the trusted product expert for Nova/FlockOS in active sales cycles
Represent Flock at industry events and forums, speaking with authority about our ecosystem
Continuously refine demo storytelling, contribute insights back to Product, and help define playbooks for scaling the team
Salary & Equity
In this role, you’ll receive a total compensation of $180,000 as well as Flock Safety Stock Options. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, as well as market indicators. Your recruiter will discuss this in-depth with you during our first chat.
