Financial Planning & Analysis Senior Manager – Brilliant Earth 
 

We are seeking a bright, motivated FP&A Senior Manager to drive financial excellence and strategic decision-making across our organization. In this role, you will help lead the annual and monthly planning and forecasting processes, perform complex financial analysis and modeling, and drive accurate financial reporting. You will partner with senior leadership to help execute Brilliant Earth’s vision, strategy and key operating decisions. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking skills, combining analytical prowess with business acumen to translate complex financial insights into actionable strategies in a fast-paced environment. The FP&A Senior Manager will report to the VP, Finance and will involve regular interaction with senior company executives.  

What you’ll do:  

Strategic Financial Leadership 

  • Serve as the primary finance partner for several leaders across the organization: 
    • Support the annual and long-range financial planning process, including monthly financial forecasting cycles. 
    • Anticipate business changes and spot trends, aligning key stakeholders on material inputs, and producing reporting on key performance drivers. 
  • Develop sophisticated financial models based on deep understanding of business operations to evaluate investment or expansion opportunities. 
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to optimize operational efficiency via data-driven reports and analyses.  
  • Drive strategic initiatives through cross-functional business partnering, analytical insight, and project management.  

Reporting and Analysis 

  • Develop and design meaningful financial data visualization dashboards and reporting tools.  
  • Drive financial performance and transparency through improved financial reporting and performance tracking, including variance analysis.  
  • Review monthly financial reporting with senior accounting personnel for accuracy and consistency with company reporting standards  
  • Support preparation of corporate and executive reporting, including board meeting reports and investor presentations.  
  • Continually improve the quality and scalability of reporting and analysis, including identification and implementation of new tools and processes.  
  • Lead or support with ad-hoc analyses as required.  

Team Leadership 

  • Lead and develop a team of 1-2 financial analysts.  
  • Foster a collaborative environment that promotes analytical excellence, critical thinking and continuous improvement.  
 

What you have:  

Experience & Education 

  • 5-7 years of experience in Excel analysis and complex financial model building 
  • Prior experience in corporate FP&A, investment banking, private equity, transaction/valuation advisory, or management consulting 
  • Demonstrated ability to translate commercial plans and dynamic business drivers into relevant financial models and analysis.  
  • Demonstrated ability to think beyond the numbers, finding connections between financials/data and business drivers and drawing strategic and operational insights from the performance of the business, and work outside the typical scope of FP&A 
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferred 

Technical Skills 

  • Advanced Excel proficiency and financial modeling experience 
  • Proficiency in extracting and analyzing data from ERP Systems 
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (Alteryx, Tableau, Domo, Microsoft Power BI + Power Query, etc.) 
  • General understanding of GAAP principles
