Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team in a fast-paced and challenging area? This is a unique opportunity for you to work in the Firmwide Financial Control team.
As a Financial Controller - Analyst within the Firmwide Financial Control team, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the firm's books and records. You will manage core financial data dimensions, process transaction requests, and support cross-firm projects. Your role will involve creating and executing SQL queries, analyzing reconciliation reports, and preparing critical audit reports. You will also have the authority to implement operational changes and manage project enhancements, all while working collaboratively within a global team.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Process BAU requests i.e. Add/Modify/Purge and consistently maintain data integrity across these dimensions.
  • Monitor and review the major processes and procedures with a high impact in FRD to identify and escalate potential issues. Examples of this include monitoring the BU hierarchy from BD-14 to BD-7 to proactively identify issues that may impact Global Close activities.
  • Create and execute SQL queries to pinpoint workflow issues, data content gaps and potential system processing errors.
  • Analyze and fix breaks in the reconciliation reports on mapping issues and GL breaks. This requires the ability to take an open-minded, well-reasoned and creative approach to address issues i.e. Effectively listen to issues, eliminate extraneous information and assess the underlying client need in order to provide a well-crafted resolution.
  • Assist the Team Leads and managers in preparing critical reports for Internal and External Audits. Certain times have faced the audit in individual capacity in the absence of the managers.
  • Gauging the severity of the issue and its impacts, determining an appropriate solution, and implementing the resolution. Position has the authority to implement operational changes to resolve issues.
  • Assess when and what type of messaging is needed for issues, changes to the system, or other system details and craft communications to key parties
  • Manage the enhancement/production request process, create op models for the process, and lead the monthly operate release process
  • Conduct significant data mining and analysis to support recommendations and necessary action items.
  • Develop, track, analyze, and publish project reports, resource management reports, project summaries, scorecards and program/project performance trends.
  • Support management of projects on an ongoing basis, evaluating progress and quality, managing the issue resolutions process and taking corrective action or escalating the issue when appropriate.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Reference Data and have strong analytical bent of mind and data mining skills.
  • 3 plus years professional experience with at least 1 year of related finance and accounting experience
  • Strong problem solving ability and analytical skills required
  • Detail oriented and precise
  • Must be able to effectively prioritize and multi task
  • Technical skills such as Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SQL and SAP knowledge.
  • Must be flexible (capable of team work and independent effort) within a virtual team that encompasses different locations, countries, and time zones.
  • Proactive, independent and self-managing.
  • A team player and adaptable to changing environment with good interpersonal skills.
  • Support management of projects on an ongoing basis, evaluating progress and quality, managing the issue resolutions process and taking corrective action or escalating the issue when appropriate.
