Vanguard has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Consultant who will manage a sales Book of Business of High Net Worth (HNW) self-directed clients who have sales opportunity and/or external share of wallet propensity. You will drive business growth and add client value by implementing an effective client outreach and book of business strategy. By using your advanced sales skills, you will conduct high touch, targeted prospecting activities, including cold calling and virtual communications. This role collaborates with peers cross-site to help drive individual and team results, experiment with new techniques, and participate in regular group coaching and skill building sessions.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieves sales and sales activity goals as set by leadership team. Identifies opportunities and moves clients through the sales funnel process.
  • Drives results and raises awareness of Vanguard’s investment products and services by delivering key messages through virtual meetings, phone calls, targeted mailings and emails.
  • Successfully manage and grow book of business consisting of HNW self-directed clients and referrals through proactive client outreach strategies.
  • Builds, grows, and maintains client relationships by developing a thorough understanding of Vanguard's value-added offerings and successfully position these services to clients.
  • Develops a thorough understanding of the sales process and utilizes it to assist in moving clients and opportunities to the next stage.
  • Develops strategic mindset when prioritizing and tiering clients. Be able to segment books of business to deliver timely, relevant and personalized value add.
  • Works well in a team environment with Financial Advisors, Relationship Managers and other team members, including those in shared services functions in the U.S. and other international locations
  • Assesses the needs of each client by asking targeted, high impact questions and positions the appropriate product and/or service that meet those needs.  Asks for the client’s business.
  • Proactively supports broader corporate initiatives and participates in programs as appropriate.
  • Participates in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Five years’ related work experience in sales and financial services required. Relationship or account management experience preferred. 
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
  • This job requires a FINRA series 7 & 66 regulatory license and/or registration (e.g. FINRA, state, SFC). These will be determined by Compliance based on role-specific duties.
  • Prior sales experience with outbound cold calling & interacting with HNW retail clients, preferred.
  • Prior experience in book of business and sales pipeline management.
  • Knowledge of financial services, investment products/principles and concepts, as well as mutual funds, ETFs and an understanding of capital markets.
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software, with a proficiency level in MS Excel preferred.
