Financial Automation Engineer
Zetier seeks a senior Financial Automation Engineer to design, implement, and operate automated financial and compliance workflows to streamline and accelerate our government contracting operations. This role is hands-on, execution-focused, and suited for candidates who can independently deliver production-grade automation in DCAA-regulated environments. The ideal candidate blends strong Python engineering skills with deep familiarity in cost accounting, timekeeping, and audit-ready financial systems.
Required:
- Deep experience (7+ years) in financial systems and automation
- Strong insights in cost accounting, indirect rates, and labor reporting
- Advanced Python development for data pipelines and production
- Experience integrating accounting and timekeeping platforms
- Ability to design audit-ready, traceable automation workflows
- Proven ability to execute independently with minimal oversight
- Strong development skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell, Rust, SQL)
- Direct experience supporting DCAA-compliant environments
- Effective communication and collaborative team approach
- U.S. citizen; able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
Desired:
- Experience building internal tools for finance, HR, or operations
- Exposure to CI/CD, version control, and infrastructure automation
- Experience with BQE Core, Deltek, Unanet, or similar systems
- Experience with DCAA audit artifacts and recurring submissions
- Familiar with government cost principles (FAR Part 31)
- Familiar with centralized logging and metrics (ELK, Graylog, Grafana)
- Prior work in small or mid-sized government contractors
- Ability to translate finance requirements into durable software
- Active U.S. security clearance
