Job Description:

Financial Analyst IIs collaborate with department managers to create and maintain the budgets and forecasts to which they are responsibleThey work with department managers to analyze periodic variances to budget and forecast to determine gaps in operational performanceThey also aid department managers and executives in the financial evaluation of current and new products/projects and service lines for the corporation.  

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis including but not limited to periodic budget/forecast variance analysis, capital expenditure analysis, and personnel analysis. 

  • Assists in the implementation of organizational changes in financial reporting systems. 

  • Accurately and efficiently forecast expenses in their associated departmentsDevelops key insights for variance and profitability analysis through standard and custom-tailored reports and projections. 

  • Compilation of monthly/quarterly/annual executive and Board financial reporting and analytics. 

  • Develops and maintains profitability/margin analysis for multiple lines of business within the corporation using detailed cost allocation methodologies. 

  • Analyzes past and current financial data to identify trends in financial performance and provides recommendations for improvement. 

  • Collaborates with department managers and members of the finance team on other financial analysis needs as requested. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.  

Requirements:

The minimum amount of relevant work experience required to successfully perform the job is at least four (4) years.  Education or job knowledge equivalent to a college or university undergraduate education. 

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, with an accounting or finance emphasis preferred

  • Strong quantitative skills and attention to detail required

  • Expert knowledge of MS Excel or other database skills a plus

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques preferred

  • Ability to work independently and balance multiple projects/priorities

  • Proficiency in 3 statement financial models a plus - Balance sheet, P&L and Cash flow

  • Experience with SQL queries, Tableau & organizing large datasets

  • Experience leading and developing financial models, creating new financial processes, models and tools.

  • Demonstrated financial and/or analytical experience including familiarity with concepts of forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and/or data interpretation and analysis
