THE ROLE 

Blue Ops is hiring a Finance Manager with an accounting background to join our Financial Operations team. Our team specializes in helping small to medium-sized businesses, private equity portfolio companies, and other clients strengthen their finance and accounting operations.


The Finance Manager will partner with clients across multiple industries and is responsible for assisting clients in delivering accurate and timely reporting, establishing and maintaining strong internal controls, developing accounting and finance teams and partnering with executive leadership to provide meaningful insights to stakeholders. This role balances hands-on accounting expertise with strategic financial advisory responsibilities.

WHAT YOU’LL DO


  • Lead accounting and finance operations for clients, including establishing internal controls, preparing and reviewing reconciliations and developing GAAP-compliant financials.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial reporting packages and assist in preparing board decks and lender compliance certificates.
  • Direct day-to-day accounting functions related to working capital accounts, such as cash, inventory, accounts receivables and payable, and other accruals.
  • Establish critical treasury processes related to cash receipts, procurement and payroll
  • Serve as primary contact for external auditors and lead financial statement audit.
  • Provide financial analysis, modeling, and forecasting in support of client objectives.
  • Partner with technology teams on ERP/accounting system design and implementation.
  • Act as the trusted advisor for the executive leadership team boards, and private equity stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance teams to ensure excellence in deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and the scope of services.

  • Effectively manage engagement execution (e.g. deliverable timelines, economics, scope/re-scoping, quality, customer satisfaction, team effectiveness)
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their concerns and providing regular updates
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting professional growth and development and continuous improvement
  • Identify opportunities for additional client engagements and collaborate with business development teams to expand relationships

WHAT YOUR RESUME SHOWS

  • Big 4 or public accounting experience strongly preferred. Corporate accounting leadership also considered.
  • 7–15 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • Undergraduate Degree - emphasis in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred; CFA, or CMA a plus
  • Experience in month-end close, technical accounting and  financial reporting.
  • Exposure to FP&A, budgeting, and forecasting is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, ERP, and financial reporting systems.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing client relationships
