Employees within a 90-minute radius of our Oak Brook, IL headquarters are required to adhere to the company in-office work guidelines of 4 days per month minimum from 10 am to 2 pm (1 of the 4 days must be a Monday or Friday).

Job Summary & Responsibilities
The Director Finance, Incentive Compensation role is focused on designing and implementing sales incentives, commissions, and short-term incentive plans that align with the organization's business strategy. This position emphasizes financial analysis, performance management, and collaboration with senior leaders to ensure effective compensation strategies that meet both internal and external standards. The role is primarily analytical, aimed at evaluating compensation initiatives and providing support for executive decision-making.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and business leaders to ensure alignment of incentive programs with company strategy
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in compensation payouts aligned with plan designs, providing detailed reports and analysis to the executive team and proposing changes when necessary.
  • Compile and analyze data over time to forecast trends and conduct in-depth modeling to evaluate and analyze the impact and effectiveness of compensation plans.
  • Troubleshoot incentive calculation issues and resolve compensation disputes
  • Perform annual sales incentive plan design, impact analysis of plan changes, and timely delivery of sales incentive plans to all participants.
  • Resolve complex employee commission/compensation issues, advising managers on necessary adjustments and changes in compensation plans.
  • Coordinate with Human Capital and Sales to create new compensation plans and advise on variable compensation plans.

Preferred Qualifications
Education & Experience:
  • Degree in Finance preferred or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in incentive compensation design or related role
  • Proven track record in engagement plans, sales commission management, sales analytics, and performance management.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and reporting
  • Excellent understanding of compensation principles and best practices
  • Experience with compensation management software
  • Project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Superior communication and presentation skills
  • Collaborative approach with strong interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive data, strong work ethic, and willingness to take initiative.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional problem-solving capabilities

Skills & Abilities:
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • An aptitude for prioritization, multi-tasking and efficiency
  • Experience with sales compensation programs
  • Knowledge of relevant compensation regulations
  • Certification in compensation management (e.g., CCP, CSCP) preferred
  • Experience with HRIS and compensation planning platforms
  • Ability to build credible relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strategic thinking combined with tactical execution capabilities
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to make decisions with incomplete information
  • Focus on creating fair and motivating compensation structures
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and program optimization

Other Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Compensation & Benefits
$165,000-$190,000 per year
