WHO WORKS AT BLUE OPS 

This is a consulting role for an up-and-coming accounting leader who thrives in fast-paced, client-facing environments and can drive financial discipline, reporting accuracy, and develop scalable process across portfolio companies.

 

THE ROLE 

The Finance and Accounting Manager will be responsible for developing and executing key value creation initiatives within the finance and accounting function, Including accounting and finance process optimization, GAAP compliance, month-end close, financial analysis, modeling, and business process improvements. This role balances hands-on accounting expertise with strategic advisory responsibilities, partnering with clients across multiple industries. 

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Lead and oversee accounting operations for clients, including month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and internal controls. 
  • Ensure GAAP compliance, accurate technical accounting, high-quality financial reporting, and audit support. 
  • Serve as primary liaison between private equity sponsor and portfolio company leadership. 
  • Provide financial analysis, modeling, and forecasting in support of client objectives. 
  • Partner with technology teams on ERP/accounting system design and implementation. 
  • Act as the key point of contact for executives, boards, and private equity stakeholders. 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance teams to ensure excellence in deliverables. 
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and the scope of services. 
  • Oversee cash management activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, fixed asset investments, and cash flow forecasting. 
  • Develop KPI tracking and operational reporting cadences.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their concerns and providing regular updates. 
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting professional growth and development and continuous improvement. 
  • Identify opportunities for additional client engagements and collaborate with business development teams to expand relationships. 

 

 

WHAT YOUR RESUME SHOWS 

  • Big 4 or public accounting experience strongly preferred. Corporate accounting leadership also considered. 
  • 5–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience. 
  • Undergraduate B.S. Degree - emphasis in Accounting & Finance, CPA, CFA, or CMA preferred 
  • Expertise in month-end close, technical accounting, financial reporting, and audits. 
  • Exposure to FP&A, budgeting, and forecasting is a plus. 
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, ERP, and financial reporting systems. 
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing client relationships.
