The Skydio team combines deep expertise in artificial intelligence, best-in-class hardware and software product development, operational excellence, and customer obsession to empower a broader, more diverse audience of drone users. From utility inspectors to first responders, soldiers in battlefield scenarios and beyond.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Field Marketing Manager to join our team and serve as the face of Skydio's marketing roadshow. This role involves traveling across the country in our marketing roadshow vehicle to support field marketing events, deliver impactful sales demonstrations, and engage with our customers and partners. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical expertise, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for showcasing cutting-edge drone technology. Travel is a must for the role as we anticipate close to 85+% travel time away from home.

This is a sales and marketing type role. You will be in front of prospective customers and you will be showcasing technology live, sometimes by yourself. You must be comfortable in those situations. This role is also a great start to a career in sales or marketing, if that is your passion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Roadshow Vehicle Operation:
    • Drive and maintain the marketing roadshow vehicle, ensuring timely arrival at events nationwide.
    • Set up and break down event displays and equipment with precision and care.
    • Ensure vehicle and equipment are clean and “event ready” for all obligations in the field, including arranging for detailing and maintenance when needed.
  • Product Demonstrations:
    • Support live product demonstrations at events, showcasing product capabilities and features to public safety and utility audiences.
    • Enthusiastically evangelize what drones - and Skydio drones in particular - can do to transform how work gets done.
    • Handle hard and skeptical questions with ease and confidence.
    • Troubleshoot drone operations and on-board audiovisual equipment to ensure seamless demonstrations.
  • Event Support:
    • Represent Skydio at field marketing events, trade shows, and customer engagements, embodying the brand’s professionalism and enthusiasm.
    • Interact with attendees, answering questions and collecting feedback to share with the marketing and sales teams.
    • Coordinate with the Skydio GTM team to align demonstrations with customer needs and drive lead generation.
    • Manage the roadshow calendar and roadmap to support efficiency while including as many stops as possible while on the road.
  • Technical Maintenance:
    • Conduct routine checks on drones, audiovisual equipment, and the marketing vehicle to ensure all assets are operational and event-ready.
    • Resolve technical issues on-site with a proactive and resourceful approach.
  • Relationship Building:
    • Build rapport with event attendees, customers, and partners to enhance brand loyalty and support sales goals.
    • Communicate customer insights to the marketing and product teams.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Required Experience:
    • Proven experience in a field marketing, technical sales, or similar customer-facing role.
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and experience driving large vehicles (e.g., vans, trailers).
    • Hands-on experience with drones and familiarity with their operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification (or willingness to obtain it).
    • Technical expertise with audiovisual equipment used for live demonstrations.
    • Ability to adapt to technical challenges and quickly find solutions in high-pressure situations.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
    • Friendly, approachable, and confident in engaging with people at all levels.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Willingness to travel extensively across the United States, including nights and weekends.
    • Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
