Job Duties and Responsibilities
Candidates must be willing to participate in at least one in-person interview, which may include a live whiteboarding or technical assessment session.
Boost Mobile is seeking a Field Engineer I to support the maintenance, integration, and performance of our 5G wireless network. This role provides hands-on experience across site support, outage response, and preventative maintenance.
Working under the guidance of experienced team members, the Field Engineer I ensures field readiness, safety, and reliability of our wireless infrastructure by applying standard operating procedures, troubleshooting methods, and strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to network alarms and outages, supporting timely restoral in alignment with SLA and MTTR targets.
  • Assist with new site integration through DU emulation and resolution of gating issues; conduct preventative maintenance to meet performance goals.
  • Execute field work following MOPs, technical drawings, and safety protocols; use test equipment for basic troubleshooting and escalate when needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors for joint troubleshooting, inspections, and site readiness.
  • Maintain accurate logs of work orders, equipment, and field activities in company systems; ensure vehicle safety and participate in monthly audits.
  • Communicate effectively with field leadership on site status, progress updates, and any operational issues.

Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in wireless, electrical, or telecom environments
  • High school diploma required; technical training or associate degree in a relevant field preferred
  • OSHA-10 certification or equivalent safety training is a plus

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of wireless infrastructure, electrical safety, and telecommunications equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including construction drawings, as-builts, and MOPs
  • Intermediate knowledge of general computer applications; experience with Google Suite is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain driving eligibility under company motor vehicle policies
  • Must be able to work nonstandard hours, including nights and weekends, as required by the business
  • Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs, work at heights, bend, crawl, and stand/walk for extended periods
  • High school diploma required; technical training or associate degree in a relevant field preferred

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $63,150.00/Year - $85,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
